Here's a great '90s Nickelodeon survival tip: If you're going to get slimed, lean back, because you do not want that green stuff sliding down your butt – there's no traction!
That nugget of Vital Information comes from All That original cast member Lori Beth Denberg during Nickelodeon's All That reunion panel at Comic-Con 2016 Saturday afternoon. Denberg was joined by fellow cast members Josh Server, Danny Tamberelli, and Kel Mitchell - not to mention The Big Ear of Corn - for a chat about memories from their time on the show, as well as their thoughts on the sketch comedy's incredible enduring legacy for those that have only the fondest memories for characters like Detective Dan, Loud Librarian, and, of course, Ed from Good Burger.
The crew opened up about creating those beloved characters, with Mitchell noting, "With Ed, I remember 'Welcome to Good Burger, home of the good burger.' It was based on this pizza guy character I did with Josh...And I was like, it needs something, bro. And I walked into the hair room and got this Milli Vanilli wig and threw that on and [in Ed's voice] 'Welcome to Comic-Con!'" Thank Keanu [Reeves], too. I watched a lot of Bill & Ted.”
During their time on the show, they all noted the backstage fun they had filming at Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, where they could go on theme park rides during their lunch breaks or spend some down time with Chris Farley – who made a big impression on the cast when he filmed a guest spot – or Coolio, who regularly stopped by.
And being the number one way for a 10-year-old to spend their Saturday nights had some perks, with musicians like the Spice Girls and Britney Spears filming guest spots on the program. "I remember I totally ruined a Britney Spears shot because I may or may not have glanced at her hiney," Tamberelli shared with a laugh. "Afterwards, the director came out and was like, 'We're going to have to do that again because you were clearly staring at her butt. I'm like, "I'm 16 years old what am I suppose to do?!"
Later in the panel the nineties nostalgia grew more potent when Kirk Fogg and Dee Bradley Baker joined the panel to talk about Nickelodeon's upcoming original television movie Legends of the Hidden Temple, based on the iconic Nickelodeon game show of the same name, which is slated to premiere this fall on Nick USA. Fogg and Baker were joined on-stage by Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School, Transformers 5), who co-stars in the movie. "That was the pinnacle of the show's drama, I think, the Silver Monkey" Fogg noted on the nearly impossible puzzle contestants had to solve. "That was the moment where if you get that then the doors open and you might be able to get out."
22 years later, all the cast is clearly touched about how many people have such fond memories of them being goofballs on camera. "It's nostalgia, right?" Server said about the intense feelings people have about '90s Nick. "There's so much loyalty to that time period. We're so grateful."
"I love hearing the fan stories," Mitchell said. "A lot of them that touch me is [someone] saying 'I had a bad day' or 'Things were going crazy with my family back in the day and I used to sit down and watch Nick and it just made my life so much better. It just made me laugh.' It's those stories that really touch us. I’m a kid from the South Side of Chicago and getting to touch so many people from all around the world, I thank all you guys and it's really awesome and a blessing."

Comic-Con: 'Legends of the Hidden Temple' Team Previews Darker, "Scary" TV Movie Revival
Host Kirk Fogg and narrator Dee Bradley Baker appeared at Comic-Con on Saturday to discuss the forthcoming project.
Revivals of '90s series are an old hat now thanks to hits like Fuller House and The X-Files. But the news that Nickelodeon was reviving the beloved '90s game show Legends of the Hidden Temple, but as a TV movie, turned a few heads.
"I was like, 'They're making a movie? How's that going to work?'" Legends of the Temple: The Movie star Isabela Moner told the Comic-Con crowd Saturday at the movie's panel, where the trailer (below) had its world premiere.
Executive producer Michael Sammaciccia said it was a natural next step. "It’s a very cinematic game show. The DNA of this game show is unlike any other game show," he said. "It's not like we set out to make a Price Is Right movie."
The movie centers on three siblings who visit a Hidden Temple theme park and fall through the floor of an old temple ruin and discover it's real. Sammaciccia described the movie as an "action-adventure ride."
The original game show's host, Kirk Fogg, appears in the movie. "Its like Jumanji in a way," he said. "It’s that same game show competitive feel to this movie."
Fogg admitted "I came in with some apprehension" when he was first pitched the idea of a movie. However, the script changed his mind. "When they sent me the script, I was like, 'Alright, somebody who liked the show wrote the movie,' " he said. "All the iconic stuff's inside of there."
Sammaciccia said the creative team was "diligent" about including references to the game show, including the steps of knowledge and the shrine of the silver monkey – the scene that Moner said took four hours to shoot. "We're going to pepper in all the references you expect to see," Sammaciccia said.
Narrator Dee Bradley Baker, who voiced Olmec on the show, also is on board: "Fans of old will really enjoy it. I think they're all going to have fun with it," he said, but also noted that those unfamiliar with the game show will be able to dive into the movie as well. "I think it does a great job of giving everyone a thrill."
Moner, however, said the movie is "unlike any other Nickelodeon thing" and called the project "unbelievably scary."
The film is directed by Joe Menendez, a Nickelodeon alum whose most recent credits include the TV series From Dusk Till Dawn.
"We really did raise the bar in a TV movie landscape and that’s what it ended up feeling like," Sammaciccia said. "We always thought, 'Let's do something bigger, let's raise the bar creatively.'… Let's get into the darker side of what the source material requires. You don’t want a Legends of the Hidden Temple movie that’s soft."
Legends of the Hidden Temple: The Movie premieres in November on Nickelodeon.
