Nickelodeon Films "Rufus 2" Scenes In Cloverdale, Canada
The Cloverdale Reporter is reporting the PAWsome news that Nickelodeon and Pacific Bay Entertainment last week filmed scenes for their upcoming Nickelodeon Original Movie, Rufus 2, in Cloverdale, a historic town and designated town centre of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada last week! To celebrate, the Cloverdale Reporter has unveiled two super behind-the-scenes photos from the shooting of Rufus 2, which you can check out below!
As part of the on-location filming, the stars and production crew of Rufus 2 took over several locations in Cloverdale, where a handful of businesses welcomed the production for extensive interior and exterior scenes, or functioned as green rooms!
Paul Orazietti, Executive Director of the Cloverdale Business Improvement Association, told The Cloverdale Reporter that last week's production was asked to film later in the day to minimize disruption for local businesses.
Orazietti also revealed that the city received in the neighbourhood of $5,000 in filming permits and fees for Rufus 2's three-day shoot in Cloverdale July 6-8. It's not known how much local businesses were compensated, but the production earned rave reviews up and down 176 Street, providing a lift during a normally slow time of year.
Currently titled Rufus 2 (Rufus-2), the film will see Jace Norman (Henry Danger), Davis Cleveland (Legendary Dudas) and Haley Tju (Bella and the Bulldogs) reprise their roles of Rufus, Manny and Paige, respectively. Rufus 2 is also set to star Jade Pettyjohn (School of Rock) as Kat, Amitai Marmorstein (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days) as Scott, Kalvin Olafson (Supernatural) as Billy Biggs. It is currently unknown whether Jace Norman will reprise his role of Rufus for the sequel, Lisa Durupt as Mom, Wesley Salter (Supernatural) as Mr. S, Princess Davis as 'Girl', and Andrew Creightney (The Troop) as 'Director'.
Rufus II is being directed by Savage Steve Holland (School of Rock, 100 Things to Do Before High School, Santa Hunters, A Fairly Odd Summer, Big Time Rush, The Fresh Beat Band, A Fairly Odd Christmas, Big Time Movie, A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!, Unfabulous, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, Shredderman Rules, Zoey 101), written by Bill Motz and Bob Roth (Rufus, Breadwinners, The Penguins of Madagascar, Monsters vs. Aliens, Swindle, Ricky Sprocket, Showbiz Boy, Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot). The movie will be executive produced by Scott McAboy (Legends of the Hidden Temple: The Movie, Rufus, Liar, Liar, Vampire, One Crazy Cruise, Splitting Adam, Santa Hunters, A Fairly Odd Summer, Jinxed, Swindle, A Fairly Odd Christmas, Rags: The Movie, Big Time Movie, A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!, Best Player, Gigantic, The Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Spectacular!, Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh, Gym Teacher: The Movie) and Michael Sammaciccia (Legends of the Hidden Temple: The Movie, Rufus, Liar, Liar, Vampire, Splitting Adam, Santa Hunters, A Fairly Odd Summer, Jinxed, Big Time Movie) and will be produced by Amy Sydorick (Legends of the Hidden Temple: The Movie, Rufus, Liar, Liar, Vampire, One Crazy Cruise, Splitting Adam, Santa Hunters, A Fairly Odd Summer, Jinxed, Swindle, A Fairly Odd Christmas, Rags: The Movie, Big Time Movie, A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!, Best Player, Gigantic). Rufus 2 is slated to premiere on Nickelodeon USA on Monday 13th February 2017.
Ever wondered what would happen if your Dog became a dude? Manny lives the tail in the first Rufus movie! In Nickelodeon's hit original television movie, Manny has just moved to a new school, and is finding it hard to fit in. After wishing he had more friends, Manny finds a mysterious collar and puts it on his loyal dog, Rufus. Suddenly, Rufus is magically transformed into a real boy!
Manny's not sure what to do, so he enrolls Rufus in school. Quickly, Manny learns that having a dog-turned-dude by your side is pretty awesome, but it's no walk in the park, either. When the other students notice Rufus's silly dog antics - chasing squirrels, eating without utensils, asking for belly rubs, and catching soccer balls and flying discs with his mouth - he immediately earns school-wide pup-ularity. Manny's jealousy soon gets the better of him when his crush, Paige, takes a special interest in Rufus, but he eventually learns that a Dog's loyalty to his owner always comes first.
Nickelodeon's original Rufus movie was watched by a stellar 3,168,000 viewers when the film debuted on Nick USA on Monday 18th January 2016.

Nickelodeon And Russell Wilson Unveil Kids' Choice Sports 2016 Plans
Many of the USA's top athletes will be taking the new stage at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Sports 2016 on Thursday 14th July 2016. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will be returning to host Nickelodeon's third annual Kids' Choice Sports awards ceremony at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles where sports stars Cam Newton, Rob Gronkowski, Stephen Curry, Serena Williams and LeBron James are among the night's nominees. To celebrate, The Wrap has unveiled a first-look at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Sports 2016 stage and a fantastic interview with Russell Wilson and Nickelodeon veteran, Jay Schmalholz, the producer of Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Sports 2016!:
Russell Wilson Promises That Nickelodeon’s ‘Kids’ Choice Sports 2016’ Is ‘Going to Be Monumental’ (Exclusive Photos)
“Sliming Kobe Bryant for the Legend Award is a big, big deal to me,” the NFL quarterback-turned-awards-host tells TheWrap
Nickelodeon’s “Kids’ Choice Sports 2016” is going to be bigger, better and slimier than ever — or so host and former Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson claims.
“Last year was epic, this year is going to be monumental,” the Seattle Seahawks quarterback and second-time host told TheWrap. “We have bigger challenges, we have the Splash Brothers [NBA stars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson] shooting three-point challenges, we have Rob Gronkowski running around.”
But the moment that he is most excited about involves Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, who retired earlier this year after 20 years in the NBA.
“Sliming Kobe for the Legend Award is a big, big deal to me. He has been such a major factor in the game of basketball all over the world for so long,” Wilson said.
With Nickelodeon having honored David Beckham and Derek Jeter as “legends” over the past two years, “part of the ritual and the honoring is the gold slime,” producer Jay Schmalholz revealed. “Russell has a few tricks up his sleeve and Kobe is in for a real surprise,” he promised.
As for the rest of the show, which will be taped live from UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles on Thursday and premieres on Nickelodeon on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, “we have definitely taken the challenges and we’ve monster-sized them,” Schmalholz continued.
“The set design alone really talks about the massive scale. Then, of course, the athletes taking part in the challenges keep getting bigger and bigger as well. Kids love seeing them compete against one another on a new turf.
“We have something called Smash Mountain, which will be [NFL players] Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown going head-to-head on a 75-foot ramp as a flood of 300 balls come tumbling down. They have to find the balls with their name on them and run back up hauling a sledgehammer, then smash three items to find a code and unlock their locker and get a medal,” he explained.
“It’s full of athleticism, fun and playfulness. Gronk is a big kid and so are we, and that’s what makes this game so unique.”
As for Wilson returning for the second year just like he did in two consecutive Super Bowls, “Russell is back because Russell is awesome. He did such a good job for last year, we were like, ‘Why change it up?'” Schmalholz said.
“He is a quarterback and he knows how to run the game.”
Wilson said the biggest challenge last year as host was perfecting his timing — especially when being bombarded with slime. “I got crushed — it took me a while to get that stuff off as I had to go backstage and shower. At least being married to an entertainer teaches me how to get in and out of these sessions a little quicker,” he explained.
Of course, the NFL star is referring to singer Ciara, whom he married in a romantic ceremony at England’s historic Peckforton Castle in Tarporley, Cheshire, on July 6.
“We wanted to have a special private wedding, we wanted to go away … we thought about doing it in the States but decided, ‘Let’s get married in a cool destination,'” he said about the unique location.
“It took a lot of work [to find], our wedding planner Mindy Weiss is unbelievable. The best part about the wedding was watching [Ciara] walk down the aisle. She was so stunning, it is a blessing to be with somebody who is such a special mom — she takes care of the little man [Future Zahir] all the time,” he gushed. “Then we had Earth, Wind and Fire play … they just brought down the house, they played so many great hits and kept the party going all night.
“I hadn’t been to Cheshire before — and it didn’t rain!” Wilson added, referring to the notoriously damp area of Northwest England. “It was really pretty there, it turned out just right for us.”
