Beginning Monday 12th December 2016, Nickelodeon Nederland will resume broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the Ziggo cable television service. As part of the channels expanded hours, Nickelodeon will launch De Splat, a brand-new retro programming block which will dive deep into Nickelodeon's rich archives to celebrate the characters and shows and air vintage Nickelodeon shows that have defined a generation, including Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats (Ratjetoe), Angry Beavers (Boze bevers) and Kenan & Kel, nightly from 12:00am!
Additionally, as part of their expanded broadcast hours, Nickelodeon will also be airing a selection of hit Nick shows from the noughties, including Big Time Rush, Zoey 101 and Drake & Josh every evening!
The news follows the announcement that VIMN will be launching Spike, which timeshares with Nickelodeon on most television providers, as a 24-hour channel on the Ziggo cable platform on Monday 12th December 2016, allowing Nickelodeon to expand its broadcast hours again on Ziggo. As part of the changes, Nickelodeon will be moving to channel 29. Nickelodeon and Spike will continue to timeshare a channel on other television services.
To celebrate De Splat, nickelodeon.nl has launched Nickelodeon Nederland's official De Splat website, in which fans can find out more information about a raft of classic Nickelodeon series, including Hey Arnold!, The Angry Beavers (Boze Bevers), Kenan & Kel, Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats (Ratjetoe), Rocko's Modern Life, Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom, Fanboy & Chum Chum, and CatDog, and watch full episodes of vintage Nick shows!
The launch of De Splat on Nickelodeon Nederland follows the launch of The Splat in the UK in October 2016.
