Voice Cast To Start To Record Dialogue For New "Rocko's Modern Life" TV Movie On Friday 14th October 2016

Voice actor Charlie Adler, who voiced Ed and Bev Bighead in Nickelodeon's classic '90s hit original animated series Rocko's Modern Life, has announced the exciting news in a Tweet on his official Twitter profile page, @Charlie_Adler, that he, along with his co-stars, will begin recording their dialogue for Nickelodeon's upcoming brand-new hour-long Rocko's Modern Life TV movie on Friday 14th October 2016!

Nickelodeon's all-new made-for-television Rocko's Modern Life special will take place in real time, with Rocko returning to the O-Town after 20 years spent drifting about in space. Once back on Earth, Rocko reunites with his O-Town pals, Filburt and Heffer, who are now both addicted to smartphones and apps, and finds he has to quickly get to grips with modern technology, including learning how to use the internet. During the special, Rocko, Filburt and Heffer will have to deal with Modern Life in 2016, 2017 and 2018, experiencing lots of twists and turns along the way, and finding how little freedom everyone has from the tech platforms we've all come to rely on.

Joe Murray, the original creator of Rocko's Modern Life, returns as executive producer and co-director of Nickelodeon's Rocko's Modern Life TV movie. Joining Joe will be Cosmo Segurson (Camp Lazlo) as co-director, and Tom Smith, a former student of Joe's and a storyboardist at Stoopid Buddy studios, and South Park animator Dan Becker.

Nickelodeon's Rocko's Modern Life TV movie will be produced out of Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, California, and will air on The Splat.

Rocko's Modern Life ran for four seasons from 1993 to 1996 on Nickelodeon. The series followed the wildly ordinary (or ordinarily wild) life of a wallaby named Rocko, his dog Spunky, and his eccentric friends: Heffer, an idiotic steer; Filburt, a turtle with spectacular neuroses; and Mr. and Mrs. Bighead, a middle-aged amphibian couple. The show was known for its surreal aesthetic, copious double entendres, and widespread social satire – which will feel right at home in 2016.

Nickelodeon's Rocko's Modern Life TV movie follows recent announcements of Nickelodeon bringing back its library content for today's audiences. Coming in 2017 is Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie, a new, original TV movie that will feature a storyline picking up from where the original series ended in 2004, resolving unanswered questions and plotlines, including Arnold finally getting answers about the whereabouts of his missing parents.

This fall, Nickelodeon will premiere its Legends of the Hidden Temple original TV movie, an action-adventure movie based on its ‘90s game show of the same name. Drawing from the original show’s premise of kids competing to retrieve artifacts from a mysterious Mayan temple, the new action-adventure TV movie version will follow three siblings who embark on a high-stakes, life-or-death mission. Legends of the Hidden Temple will premiere on Nick USA on Saturday 26th November 2016 at 8:00pm ET/PT.
