The brand-new The Loud House episode "Overnight Success", premiering Wednesday 20th July 2016 at 8pm ET/PT on Nickelodeon USA, will introduce Clyde McBride's parents, Harold and Howard, a gay, interracial married couple, Variety and Entertainment Weekly have confirmed. The characters will be voiced by comedians voiced by Wayne Brady (The Wayne Brady Show, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Everybody Hates Chris, Let's Make a Deal) and Michael McDonald (All Grown Up!, Invader Zim, Futurama, Ghostbusters (2016), Spy, Scrubs).
Nickelodeon's hit original animated series (Nicktoon), currently in its first season, follows Lincoln Loud, who struggles being the only boy in a family where he is outnumbered by his 10 sisters. Clyde McBride is one of Lincoln's friends. In the episode, Clyde comes over for a sleepover, but ends up making Lincoln jealous when he wants to hang out with the Loud sisters instead.

An expert from Wednesday's upcoming episode, above, was posted to Twitter. As evident in the clip, the series makes no hoopla over the appearance of the married gay couple. Instead, it focuses on the protective nature of the McBride's after dropping off Clyde at the Loud residence for a slumber party.
The decision to feature a married same-sex couple on a children's program has been met with overwhelmingly positive reactions.
So happy to be a part of this show! #loudandproud https://t.co/CvEz4k7PsY

@Ieodavinci I feel like they handled that really well. Didn't make it too obvious, let it feel natural and unassuming like a regular family.

Although the networks first-ever married same-sex couple, Harold and Howard McBride aren't the networks first same-sex couple. In 2014, the series finale of Nickelodeon's hit original animated series The Legend of Korra ended with Korra and Asami, two of the shows female characters, embarking on a romantic relationship, with fans endearingly calling the couple 'Korrasami'.
