NEW YORK–July 28, 2016 – Nickelodeon today launched its first app based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Half-Shell Heroes, a preschool and kid-friendly property inspired by the hit animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In the TMNT Half-Shell Heroes app, kids can join Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo on an action-filled quest through the sewers and streets of New York City. Designed for younger TMNT fans, the app features educational games that helps teach STEM concepts, problem solving and critical thinking. The TMNT Half-Shell Heroes app is available now to download on all iOS devices, Google Play and Amazon.

While playing the TMNT Half-Shell Heroes app, users can add award badges to their Ninja Stash by swiping and navigating their way through challenges including: sewers flooded by M.O.U.S.E.R.S; an attack by Footbots; and a city invasion by the Kraang. Additionally, players can receive help from popular characters from the series like April, Splinter and Casey Jones, while continuing to master their Ninja Turtle skills in Splinter’s Dojo.

TMNT Half-Shell Heroes joins Nickelodeon’s portfolio of top-ranked apps inspired by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Legends, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Rooftop Run, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Portal Power, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Match and Brother’s Unite.

Since the series launch in 2012, Nickelodeon’s all-new CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has re-energized these iconic characters of this wildly popular franchise. Currently in its fourth season, the series is seen in over 170 countries and territories, and translated in over 50 languages. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles follows four mutant turtles-Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo-trained in the art of ninjutsu by their mutant rat sensei, Master Splinter, who teaches the turtles to battle evil from the New York City sewers. Executive produced by Ciro Nieli and Brandon Auman, the series is created at Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, Calif.
