Höhenkirchen/Munich, June 23, 2016: Following the latest trade show MipTV, the German brand management and media company m4e AG has secured a number of international broadcast deals for its all-new CGI-animated series “Wissper”. The comedy-adventure has been picked up by German public broadcaster ZDF and is about to air later this year on its free-to-air kids channel KiKA. “Wissper” will also hit Austrian TV screens, since public broadcaster ORF acquired the series as well. m4e has furthermore sold the pay TV-rights for UK to Viacom International Media Networks Europe and its kids channel Nickelodeon.
Moreover, m4e is expanding its preschool property within the Russian market where “Wissper” is planned to go on air this fall on the leading kids channel Karusel. The Russian agency brand4rent is handling the licensing roll out, with first products to be launched this fall as well. The toy line by Simba Dickie will be launched in early 2017.
Further TV deals were also closed for Asia by Co-Producer Discreet Art Productions, where ZooMoo Networks Asia has picked up the pay TV-rights for Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Myanmar. Free-TV rights were acquired by Thailand’s TIGA and Singapore’s Mediacorp television network, where it will air on the leading kids channel OKTO.
Aimed at preschool children, “Wissper” follows the adventures of a little girl by the same name who has a very special talent – she is able to communicate with animals. This allows her to understand their problems and help solve them. Wissper the “animal whisperer” is a beloved character for young viewers all around the world.
The 52 episodes of the CGI-animated TV-series were created by Dan Good – known for the BBC-hit-series “Waybuloo” – in a coproduction between his London-based animation studio Absolutely Cuckoo and m4e AG, Telegael (Ireland), Discreet Art Productions (India), and the German BASTEI Media GmbH, a subsidiary of publisher Bastei Lübbe AG. Originally commissioned by Channel 5’s kids strand Milkshake!, the animated comedy-adventure is already being successfully broadcast in many countries. The brand’s worldwide distribution is managed by m4e.
