Nickelodeon Greece Says "Eh Oh" To "Teletubbies"

Nickelodeon Greece has announced the exciting news on their official website that Nickelodeon Greece will start to premiere and show DHX Media's brand-new Teletubbies series in April 2016!

Commissioned by UK preschool channel CBeebies and produced by Canada's DHX and UK prodco Darrall Macqueen, the revamped Teletubbies series sees Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po return to TV screens with a CGI-enhanced look, while the familiar screens on their stomachs are now touch-screen.

"The revamped CGI aesthetic, comedic elements and high-tech motifs will certainly appeal to this generation's tech-savvy preschoolers, as well as their parents," said Joe Tedesco, Senior Vice President (SVP) and General Manager (GM) at DHX Television.

In Teletubbies, viewers are invited to join Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po as they explore the Tubbytronic Superdome and the magical landscape of Teletubbyland through play!

Familiar and favorite characters from the original series are back - the Noo Noo, Tubby Custard, Tubby Toast, Baby Sun, the Rabbits and the Voice Trumpets - along with some brand new surprises! Search the Tubby Phone and monitors the bellies of the Teletubbies!

Teletubbies first launched on the BBC in the UK in March 1997. It went on to become one of the most successful global children's brands of all time, with the original episodes airing in more than 120 territories in 45 different languages. It was also the first Western preschool property to air on China's CCTV, reaching an audience of 300 million children.

DHX Media acquired all rights to Teletubbies through its purchase of Ragdoll Worldwide, a joint venture between Ragdoll Productions and BBC Worldwide that owned, managed and exploited Teletubbies programming.

The rebooted Teletubbies series launched on Canadian channel Family Jr. in December 2015.

Nickelodeon USA has also acquired the broadcast rights for the new Teletubbies series and will air the show on the networks Nick Jr. channel later this year. Nick USA also picked up the rights to all 365 classic Teletubbies episodes from the original series for Noggin, its mobile subscription service for preschoolers.
