To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Fairly OddParents, Butch Hartman, the creator of Nickelodeon's Emmy Award-winning original animated series (Nicktoon), has been revealing Fairly OddFact about his hit Nick show on his official Tumblr blog, including:
#1: In the original pitch of the show, it was called Fairy GodParents, and Wanda had blue hair and was originally named Venus!
#16: Tad and Chad are voiced by Tara Strong (Timmy) and Grey Delile (Vicky)!
#19: Dinkleberg was a "one time" joke - but it just got funnier the more the writers did it! So it never stopped! CURSE YOU DINKLEBERG!
#20: Information Stupor Highway was one of the first episodes of FOP that used CGI animation!
21: Tootie was a nickname Butch had for his daughter, Carly Hartman!
#22: Poof's original name was Dusty! BONUS FACT: He was the hardest character to design!
#23: Timmy is sharing his fairies with his new neighbor, Chloe Carmichael!
#24: Butch pitches all of The Fairly OddParents episodes to his crew, who all punch up jokes at every step in the process!
#25: Mr. Crocker's character is based on Eugene Levy's character from the 1984 movie Splash!
#26 - Wanda's design, especially her hair, was based on Wilma Flintstone!
#27 - Timmy's parents were originally designed with no heads — because I never intended to show their faces!
#28 - Jay Leno does the voice of Crimson Chin!
