Original Squeeze Press Release via Animation World Network:
Squeeze Expands Distribution for 'Cracked' Series
QUÉBEC CITY -- Squeeze has announced that the international distribution of Cracked (known as Cracké in other markets) is expanding, with Nickelodeon's decision to include the TV series in its programming for Australia and New Zealand. Nickelodeon will be showing the 52 episodes starting on March 1st, 2016.
Created and produced by Squeeze in Québec City, Canada, Cracked is a universal 3D animated slapstick comedy series starring Ed, an anxious ostrich dad, and his beloved brood. With the good intention to protect his eight eggs, Ed will cause trouble and threats, never missing an opportunity to make things worse for himself.
"There is continuous demand for unique short-form content across all of our platforms, not only on-channel, but also on website and in-app. Cracked is an example of a fun, quirky bite-sized animation that our audience can enjoy at home or on the go," commented Jihee Nam, General Manager, Nickelodeon Networks Australia and New Zealand.
"With a quality that meets what's found in movies, Cracked has a tremendous potential to reach kids big and small, coming from all across the world," remarked Denis Doré, Squeeze's President and Co-Founder. "The episodes are short, packed with crazy adventures, and the humor is hard to resist!"
Cracked is coming to life in 2016 through a television series, a mobile video game and a mobile animated comic book. Cracked was produced in Canada in collaboration with Teletoon, the Canada Media Fund, the Québec Refundable Tax Credit for Film and Television Production (managed by SODEC), the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit (CPTC) - CAVCO and the Bell Fund.
