Dudes, what's up? CBR TV has unveiled the first part of their fantastic interview with Jim Dirschberger and Jay Howell, the co-creators of Nickelodeon's Emmy-nominated original animated series (NickToon) "Sanjay and Craig", and Maulik Pancholy, the voice of Sanjay!:
"Sanjay & Craig" Star & Creators Deliver "More Heart, Less Fart"
In the first part of the conversation, recorded at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2015, Maulik, Jim and Jay discuss where they find inspiration for the show's absurdist comedy, and how they impart messages that will be relevant to kids while not being preachy. They also talk about working with Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi, the creators of "The Adventures of Pete and Pete", how that collaboration helped shape the tone of the series, and the odd process of animation, in which each part of the process is slightly separate from every other, including the voice actors from each other!
"Sanjay and Craig" Creators Explain Why Diversity is Not An Issue
In the second part of the conversation with CBR TV from Comic-Con International 2015, "Sanjay and Craig" creators Jim Dirschberger and Jay Howell and star Maulik Pancholy discuss the fact that a character of Indian descent, and his family, are front and center in the show, as well as why the issue of diversity is both an important thing for television and why there's not some kind of agenda attached to it. Following that, they discuss what fans can expect from the third, totally absurd season of the show when it airs on Nickelodeon later this year!
Fans can catch brand-new episodes of "Sanjay and Craig" every Friday at 8:15pm ET/PT, only on Nickelodeon USA!

As commander of Axle City's firefighting brigade, the Fire Chief tackles the toughest emergencies with authority and thinks Blaze may have what it takes to be a firefighter. Nickelodeon Announces "The Splat" To Be Programming Block; To Launch In October 2015
After much speculation, Cyma Zarghami, the president of Viacom Inc's Kids & Family Group, has announced the exciting news in a exclusive interview with WorldScreen.com that the "The Splat" will be a rebrand of Nickelodeon's current "The '90s Are All That" classic Nickelodeon programming block, which airs on TeenNick USA!:
UPDATE: A Nickelodeon Australia spokesperson told BuzzFeed that, "The Splat is a new day part (10pm - 6am) that is launching next month in the U.S."!
Additionally, a Nickelodeon Insider has revealed to Variety that Nickelodeon will launch "The Splat" in October 2015!
Similar to "The '90s Are All That", "The Splat" will be dedicated to classic Nicktoons, including "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters", "The Ren & Stimpy Show", "Rugrats", "The Angry Beavers", "Hey Arnold!", "Rocko's Modern Life", "Rocket Power", "CatDog", "The Wild Thornberrys", and many many more! It is currently unknown whether "The Splat" will also air classic live-action Nickelodeon series in addition to Nicktoons.

TV KIDS: Today's generation of kids have parents who grew up with Nick and young talent also grew up with Nick. How does this affect parents' expectations and the talent you work with? You can read Cyma's interview with World Screen in full here on WorldScreen.com (paid subscription required).
ZARGHAMI: If you follow somebody like Nick Cannon, he's a really interesting example because he probably grew up watching Nickelodeon and he was 19 when he did his first work for us. Then he started making shows for us probably in his early 20s, and now he has 3-year-old kids and he's still working with us, but through a slightly different lens. People who started with Nickelodeon have a real emotional connection to it; it's fantastic. The moms have built-in equity and feelings about the preschool content, so they know it's good and they trust us implicitly. There are a lot of people between 20 and 30 who are yearning for their early Nickelodeon days. So we've created The '90s Are All That, [a nightly block on TeenNick], where people can come back and connect with the stuff that they grew up on. The '90s Are All That is getting a new name. We're calling it The Splat, so we can [tap into programming] from the 2000s. We didn't want to be limited to the '90s. We're trying to take advantage of the social aspect of the people who really want to connect with their old Nickelodeon, so there are a lot of social components to it as well.
