Nickelodeon Africa has announced the very exciting news that Nickelodeon is teaming up with Tsogo Sun and the Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital Trust to stage its first ever family-centric festival, "NickFest", in Johannesburg at The Globe at Silverstar on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th June 2015!
NickFest will thrill kids and parents alike with its unique combination of live music from SA A-listers, character shows and appearances by Nickelodeon superstars SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Packed with fun and interactivity, NickFest promises a fabulous day out for kids of all ages and their families, with designated activities for pre-schoolers, primary school kids, tweens and teens. And of course there'll be lots of Nickelodeon's trademark slime – tons and tons of gooey green stuff...in the awesome Slime Area!
A favourite with SA kids, Nickelodeon currently broadcasts three 24-hour kids channels in SA: Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Nicktoons. Nickelodeon consistently ranks as the number one kids and family channel on premium pay-TV in South Africa, thanks to award-winning, ratings-beating programming that puts kids first, including "The Nickelodeon Kids's Choice Awards"*, "SpongeBob SquarePants", "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn", "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "The Thundermans". Attracting 170,000 viewers per day, Nickelodeon's viewership is up by 41 percent over the same time last year due to its compelling mix of classic, character-driven shows and a vibrant new programme slate.
During the 2-day festival, NickFest will welcome more than 4,000 kids and families to The Globe, with the site totally transformed into a Nickelodeon wonderland. Two shows will be held on both days at 10:00am and 14:00pm. Details of performers will be released shortly.

The Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital began construction in April 2014, and is targeted to open in the second half of 2016. The Trust continues to fundraise towards its R1 billion target, of which R620 million has been raised. "It is with support and donations from partners such as NickFest, as well as the public that we look forward to Madiba's wish becoming a reality. And we look to the global community to continue supporting this project, which will improve children's health for generations to come,” said Sibongile Mkhabela, CEO of Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital Trust."

In the all-new Nick Flick, 15-year-old Adam Baker (Jace Norman) has a jam-packed summer schedule. By popular demand, the live stage show will visit 23 East Coast cities this November and December, including Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, and Boston, before a second leg takes Peppa to additional U.S. cities in 2016.

There's plenty of fun to be had as Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy Pig, along with Danny Dog, Pedro Pony and Suzy Sheep work together to organize an exciting day out complete with a Champion Puddle Jumping competition judged by Mr. Potato, where everyone gets wet! An interactive experience full of singing, dancing, games, and muddy puddles, Peppa Pig's Big Splash is a guaranteed blast for the whole family.

Peppa Pig's Big Splash is an action-packed live show, based on the popular Peppa Pig television series, designed to deliver to preschoolers and young fans an unforgettable first, live theater experience. In Peppa Pig's Big Splash, the nursery roof is leaking and Peppa and her friends need to fix it quickly. They set up a fair to raise money so Mr. Bull can do the repairs. There's plenty of fun to be had as Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy Pig, along with Danny Dog, Pedro Pony and Suzy Sheep work together to organize an exciting day out complete with a Champion Puddle Jumping competition judged by Mr. Potato, where everyone gets wet! An interactive experience full of singing, dancing, games, and muddy puddles, Peppa Pig's Big Splash is a guaranteed blast for the whole family.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It's monster machine mayhem in May as Nickelodeon launches a month of brand-new Blaze and the Monster Machines content across multiple screens, including: "Dragon Island Duel" on Monday, May 25; a companion NickJr.com game; and a Blaze app update. Also, May marks the launch of an all-new toy line inspired by the hit preschool series. Blaze and the Monster Machines follows the adventures of the amazing monster truck Blaze and his eight-year-old driver AJ, and it's the first preschool show on TV to comprehensively cover all areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) in every episode. In 1Q15, Blaze was the number-two preschool series in Live+7 with posted increases of 64% behind Nick's own PAW Patrol and it currently ranks as the number-one preschool show in its time period on all TV.
In "Dragon Island Duel," premiering at 11 a.m. (ET/PT) on May 25, Blaze and Crusher go up against each other in a one-on-one high stakes race to the top of Mount Dragon. Although it's one of the toughest races their team has ever faced, best friends Blaze and AJ know they have what it takes to beat Crusher--the unstoppable power of friendship! Despite Crusher's attempt to cheat and trap Blaze in a cave far off the course before the race begins, AJ manages to free his best friend while overcoming larger-than-life obstacles along the way. Crusher tries to cheat one last time along the route, but Blaze and AJ prove no one can beat best friends by winning the race in a thrilling finale. Throughout the half-hour special, preschoolers will be introduced to the STEM concept of investigation.
Beginning May 7, the Blaze and the Monster Machines app will offer users the ability to help Blaze and AJ compete on all-new jungle tracks when they purchase the Dragon Island location. Kids will be able to race against Stripes and watch out for Crusher's new obstacles like his coconut and banana launchers. The app, which debuted at number-one on the Kids and Education charts, introduces preschoolers to STEM concepts as they race along preset courses or build their own tracks, encouraging children to apply critical thinking skills and explore scientific principles including acceleration, adhesion, force, friction and more.
On www.nickjr.com, Nickelodeon's award-winning website, preschoolers can play the brand-new "Dragon Island Race" game beginning May 8. Kids must help Blaze get past all of the obstacles in his path as he races Crusher to the top of Mount Dragon.
