Nickelodeon Russia and CIS Acquires Rights To "Robodz"; To Debut Series In February 2015
The children's entertainment and media news website Kidscreen is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon International News that Nickelodeon Russia and CIS has acquired the broadcast rights to "Robodz", a new 15 x 11-minute CG-animated family comedy series produced by the Russian production company Studio Atria, from London, UK-based boutique distributor Media I.M.! As part of four-year deal, Nickelodeon will start to premiere the show in 14 countries, including Russia, across the CIS and Baltic territories, in February 2015.
"Robodz" follows the lives of robots who ended up far, far away from human society. The story is based on the premise that all the robots who have been sent to Mars as part of various space missions over the years have lost connection with the Earth, and have ended up making Mars their new home. Over the last few decades many space missions have reached Mars, however some lost contact with their respective space agencies. What happened to them? Robodz!
Spaceship wreckage provided the perfect material and tools to make Robodz at home on Mars, enabling them to build their homes and fill their lives with all the supplies and essentials they needed. The Robodz population on Mars grew and prospered, a civilization was built and the story of the Robodz began.
Each episode is a humorous fun-packed story of the everyday life of the Robodz on Mars and beyond, touching on subjects of friendship, rivalry, right and wrong, which always leaves the viewers with a smile! Each character in the series is unique, has very individual qualities and different interests. They are far away, made of metal and live in a very un-Earth like hostile environment, however they are not that dissimilar from us.

Nickelodeon Australia Takes Over Sydney's Hyde Park To Host The Australia Day Summer Playground
To celebrate Australia Day 2015, Nickelodeon Australia today, Monday 26th January 2015, took over Sydney's historic Hyde Park to host The Australia Day Summer Playground to make Australia Day 2015 the biggest Australia Day ever!
Thousands of families braved the rain to attend the free event, which offered live performances, super hero activities and meet and greets with popular Nickelodeon Nick Jr. characters.
Nickelodeon mega star SpongeBob SquarePants, set to star in his second big screen adventure in April 2015, replaced his SquarePants with Aussie boardshorts in honour of Australia Day, Dora the Explorer made her Australian debut at the Summer Playground and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hi-5 crew and "Play Along with Sam" star Sam Moran performed for the crowds.
All Nickelodeon characters and performers also joined Moran for the Salute to Australia, which saw the whole nation unite and sing the Australian national anthem, "Advance Australia Fair".
Additional activities included a chill-out Book Nook zone where kids and families enjoyed scheduled story readings by the City of Sydney Libraries, a zone which encouraged kids to learn football skills and techniques from qualified coaches on the day and a super hero activation zone called SuperNick where kids could be superimposed onto famous Australian settings.
"As leaders in family entertainment, we are excited to have partnered with the Australia Day Council of NSW to make Australia Day in Hyde Park bigger and better than ever," said Jihee Nam, Vice President (VP) and General Manager (GM) for Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand.
"Nickelodeon's unique entertainment offering ensures that we can always deliver families a memorable experience and we are proud to have been a part of the most celebrated day on every Australian’s calendar."
