On the cable side, Katsky has sold multi-camera comedy Animal Rescue Show to Nickelodeon, from writers Erika Keastle and Patrick McCarthy (Good Luck Charlie). It centers on 12-year-old Taylor who has her life turned upside down when her single mother, in an attempt to “help” her make more friends, signs up their animal rescue facility as a place where her outrageous classmates can come work and receive community service hours for school.
The sales reunite WME-repped Katsky, a well respected development executive, with several of the networks she had previously worked for. She spent four years as SVP Development & Original Programming at Nickelodeon and also did stints as SVP Development for HBO Independent Prods, SVP and head of comedy for Fox and SVP and head of comedy for Regency TV. Before teaming with Kaplan, she was at Greg Daniels’ production company Deedle Dee Prods, where she worked on the upcoming NBC comedy series Mr. Robinson.
