Grab your Best Friend and Hold on to your Butt! Nickelodeon UK, the number one commercial kids TV network in the UK, has announced and confirmed in the following Press Release the exciting Nickelodeon UK News that Nick UK's animation and action channel, Nicktoons UK and Ireland, will start to premiere and show Nickelodeon's brand new original animated series (Nicktoon) "Sanjay and Craig" weekdays at 4:30pm from Monday 4th November 2013, as part of "November 2013 on Nicktoons UK"! Repeats of each episode will be shown later the same day at 6:30pm.
Original Nickelodeon UK Press Release:
Grab your Best Friend and Hold on to your Butt as Sanjay & Craig Comes to Nickelodeon
London, 21st October 2013 - Mix together one talking snake, an adventurous boy and the world’s first-ever butt transplant and you have the brand-new animated show Sanjay and Craig. The 20-episode series, produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios, follows the misadventures of Sanjay, a cheeky 12-year-old boy (Maulik Pancholy, 30 Rock) and his best friend Craig, a smooth-talking snake (Chris Hardwick, Nerdist, Back at the Barnyard) who is a master of disguise. Together they embark on epic quests that are regularly ridiculous, hilarious and fantastical. Sanjay and Craig premieres on Monday 4th November at 4:30pm on Nicktoons.
Sanjay and Craig features a stellar line-up of voice talent alongside Pancholy and Hardwick with additional cast members including: Linda Cardellini (Mad Men, Freaks and Geeks) as Megan, Matt Jones (Breaking Bad) as Hector, Tony Hale (Veep, Arrested Development) as Mr. Noodman, Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory) as Vijay, Grey DeLisle (The Fairly OddParents) as Darlene and Sandy Dickson and Remington Tufflips as himself.
Sanjay and Craig's relationship is a true alliance with Sanjay relying on his best buddy to aid his misadventures through their suburban neighborhood. From perfecting the ultimate bike skid or tight-roping across a pool of garbage on a dare, their routine hijinks often cross into the land of the whimsical and the absurd. The only thing that stands in their way is their unhinged, snake-phobic neighbor, Mr. Noodman, who is always on the verge of figuring out that Craig can talk.
During the half-hour series premiere, Sanjay and Craig infiltrate the hospital to see the world's first butt transplant in “Brett Venom MD,” followed by "Laugh Quake," where the best friends embark on a quest to find the ultimate laugh. The series will air regularly weekday afternoons at 4:30pm and fans can play games and view clips at nicktoons.co.uk.
Created and co-executive produced by Jay Howell, Jim Dirschberger, and Andreas Trolf, the trio were inspired by the Nickelodeon cartoons they grew up watching such as The Ren & Stimpy Show and The Adventures of Pete & Pete. These first-time creators were teamed with award-winning writers and producers Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi (The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Alvin and the Chipmunks) to make an original animated series for a new generation of Nickelodeon kids.
