Nick Jr. UK To Debut "Kushaboom", A Brand New Dance-Themed Preschool Series, In January 2014

Get ready to get up and get dancing! Nick Jr. and Nickelodeon UK presenter Helena Dowling has announced the very exciting Nick UK News to NickALive! in a Tweet on her official Twitter profile page, @HelenaDowlingTV, that Nickelodeon UK's preschool channel, Nick Jr. UK and Ireland, will start to premiere and show their brand new UK produced dance themed short-form preschool series "Kushaboom" in January 2014, as part of "2014 on Nick Jr. UK"!

"Kushaboom" (8 episodes x 5 minutes) is a brand new preschool series set in a enchanted dance studio and features a group of four children, who will make up the 'Kushaboom crew', joining Nick Jr. and Nickelodeon presenter Helena Dowling (pictured) and her puppet co-presenter, DJ Kusha, for a very special dance class. Using the mechanic of a magical dance floor that transforms into a globe, every episode will take the audience on a geographical adventure where they will explore a different dance culture and learn corresponding dance moves. The series, filmed in Hackney, London will also feature a child actress from the Stagecoach Theatre Arts Weymouth performing arts school.

"Kushaboom" will also have a dedicated website on the official Nick Jr. UK website, NickJr.co.uk, which will feature exclusive interactive content, character information and online streaming video clips.

Nickelodeon Picks Up Potential New Drill Sergeant-Based Comedy Series From Tia Mowry-Hardrict And Aaron Kaplan, The Star And Producer Of Nick At Nite's "Instant Mom"

The entertainment news website Deadline.com is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon news that Tia Mowry-Hardrict, star of Nick at Nite's brand-new, live-action family comedy series, "Instant Mom", and the show's executive producer Aaron Kaplan have sold an untitled Drill Sergeant comedy project to Nickelodeon! Loosely based on Mowry-Hardrict's upbringing, the comedy will revolve around a 12-year-old girl who lives on an Army base with her drill sergeant mother. Dan Kopelman ("Rules Of Engagement") will pen the script and executive produce with Mowry-Hardrict and Kaplan through his Kapital Entertainment. In addition to "Instant Mom", Kaplan also executive produced the Nickelodeon original comedy series "Wendell & Vinnie", which recently ended its one-season run in September 2013:

Nickelodeon UK To Show "Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse" Special In October 2013

ToyNews, a monthly trade magazine for the toy business, is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon UK news in the following article that following a deal with Mattel, Inc., the world's largest toy company, the popular CG-animated web series "Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse" is set to premiere on Nickelodeon UK & Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK this month (October 2013) with a special 22 minute episode!

The series is set in a fictional version of Malibu, California where all of its inhabitants are dolls. The dolls though, act as people living normal lives and are aware of their own natures. The series centers on the life of Barbie, her friends, siblings and her boyfriend Ken. The series is stylized as mock reality show featuring confessionals of the characters in-between scenes. The show has already had more than 550 million views worldwide, and Mattel looks forward to this increasing as the show joins the Netflix roster in December 2013.

"Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse" recently celebrated its fourth season with more scheduled for 2014 featuring new content for older girls and a new product range to compliment the series. The show is currently translated into 21 different languages across the globe.
