Nickelodeon Latin America Acquires Rights To Colombian Teen Telenovela "Chica Vampiro"

The entertainment news website C21Media is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon International news in the following article that Nickelodeon Latin America has picked up the broadcast rights to the first season of "Chica Vampiro" ("Vampire Girl"; 120 episodes x 60 minutes), a Colombian teen telenovela about a ordinary young schoolgirl whose mother and father are vampires and who, after a tragic accident, becomes one herself!

The show began airing on RCN Television in Colombia in May 2013 and was created by Marcela Citterio ("Ugly Duckling") and is produced by Televideo.

Nickelodeon Latin America has picked up the rights to the first season of a Colombian teen telenovela about a young female vampire.



Chica Vampiro

Chica Vampiro (120x60′) follows an ordinary schoolgirl whose mother and father are vampires and who, after a tragic accident, becomes one herself.

The show began airing on RCN Television in Colombia in May this year and was created by Marcela Citterio (Ugly Duckling) and produced by Televideo.

The Viacom-owned broadcaster will begin airing the series in Latin America later this year.

“For us, it is not only important to produce successful content for our audience, but also to support creativity and production in Latin America, and this telenovela is a wonderful example of programming that comes from the region,” said Migdalis Silva, senior director of programming and acquisitions for Nickelodeon Latin America.

Nick Jr. UK & Ireland, Nick Jr. Australia & New Zealand And PBS Kids Sprout Commission Second Series Of Animated Preschool Series "Poppy Cat" From Coolabi

The licensing industry news website Licensing.biz and the entertainment news website C21Media is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon Preschool news in the following articles that Nick Jr. UK & Ireland, Nick Jr. Australia & New Zealand and PBS Kids Sprout in the USA have jointly commissioned a second season of the popular animated preschool series "Poppy Cat" from UK-based production company Coolabi!

Production on the animation for "Poppy Cat" season 2, which will feature 52 brand new 11 minute episodes, is already underway, with delivery to broadcasters, including Nick Jr. UK and Eire, expected in Spring 2014. Meanwhile, UK-based distributor Cake will again sell the new episodes internationally.

"Nick Jr. is the perfect home for Poppy Cat and her adventurous spirit," said Tim Patterson, VP and director of Programming at Nickelodeon UK and Ireland. "We look forward to premiering brand-new episodes for UK audiences in 2014."

52 new episodes will be seen in the UK next year

Coolabi's popular pre-school show Poppy Cat is returning for a second season.

52 new 11 minute episodes will be seen in the UK on Nick Jr. in 2014.
