This week Eurodata TV has provided us with the ratings for the top-five program broadcasts with kids four to 15 in the UK between March 11 and April 7, 2013.
The top-five programs are:
1. The Simpsons, Channel 4 (March 21, 5.6% rating, 22.3% share)
2. Tree Fu Tom, CBeebies (March 19, 4.2% rating, 21.5% share)
3. The Simpsons, Sky 1 (March 24, 3.7% rating, 11.7% share)
4. iCarly (series finale episode), Nickelodeon (April 5, 3.3% rating, 14.5% share)
5. Octonauts, CBeebies (March 15, 3.2% rating, 15.2% share)

Turner International grows acquisitions effortsAlso, from C21Media:
In expanding its kids content offering, Turner International has appointed former Nickelodeon exec Edward Barnieh as programming and acquisitions manager for the Asia Pacific region.
Based in Hong Kong, Barnieh will be responsible for Turner’s acquisition strategies for its kids’ networks, including Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, POGO, Toonami and Boomerang. He will have a particular eye out for animated comedies from global studios and distributors.
Barnieh spent close to a decade at Nickelodeon UK, where he was involved in traditional broadcasting, as well as multi-platform initiatives in VOD, online, mobile and content licensing. He began his career at Viacom in London.

Turner International has brought over a Nickelodeon executive from the UK as programming and acquisitions manager for its children’s channels in Asia Pacific.
Based in Hong Kong, Edward Barnieh will be responsible for Turner’s acquisition strategies for channels including Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, Pogo, Toonami and Boomerang.
Barnieh joins Turner after almost nine years with Nickelodeon UK, where he was a senior acquisitions and digital media exec and, most recently, content manager for multi-platform. He also was “heavily involved” in the roll-out of video-on-demand and mobile TV services for Nick, according to Viacom.
“Edward joins us from an acquisitions background that spans TV, online, mobile, and content licensing, which we expect will help secure our leading position in the kids genre in Asia Pacific,” said Mark Eyers, Turner International’s regional chief content officer.

Turner taps Nick UK for Asia Pac exec
Turner International has added to its Asia Pacific programming team with the hire of a former Nickelodeon UK executive.
Edward Barnieh has joined as programming and acquisitions manager, Asia Pacific, where he will be responsible for the acquisitions strategies for children’s channels including Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, POGO, Toonami and Boomerang.
In particular, Barnieh will seek to secure “funny and clever animation from international studios and distributors”, according to Turner. He will be based out of Turner’s Hong Kong office.
Barnieh previously spent nine years at Nickelodeon in the UK, where he was involved in content acquisition and the roll out of VOD and mobile services.
“Edward joins us from an acquisitions background that spans TV, online, mobile and content licensing, which we expect will help secure our leading position in the kids genre in Asia Pacific,” said Mark Eyers, Turner International’s regional chief content officer.
Meanwhile, Turner International, the global arm of Turner Broadcasting System now headed up by Gerhard Zeiler, is still undergoing a review of its EMEA business. Former Disney exec Giorgio Stock has been drafted in as president of TBS EMEA, while the region’s chief content officer Michael Carrington has left to join Hit Entertainment. Staff headcount is still understood to be under review.
