The official website of The York Press, a local daily newspaper for communities in North and East Yorkshire, UK, and is based on the city of York, is reporting in the following article that Nickelodeon Movies star Nicola Peltz, who played Katara in M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" in 2010, which was a big screen live-action adaptation of the popular Nickelodeon original animated series (Nicktoon) "Avatar: The Last Airbender", has been cast as the lead female role in Paramount Pictures' upcoming sequel to their "Transformers" movie franchise, "Transformers 4", which will be directed by Michael Bay. MIPTV News: DLT/Raydar Rights preps first slateAlso, from C21Media:
Alison Rayson and Don Taffner Jr.’s fledgling distributor is heading to MIPTV with a slate spanning drama, gameshows and kids programming.
Indie distributor DLT/Raydar Rights was created last year through the merger of the sales arm of Taffner Jr.’s DLT Entertainment and former Target executive Rayson’s Raydar Media.
Its first full slate will be unveiled in Cannes.
It includes BBC One one-off drama Our Girl(pictured)about a teenage tearaway who joins the army. it was produced by the BBC’s in-house drama department and has just debuted in the UK.
DLT/Raydar’s other drama highlights include two shows from Kiwi indie producer KH. Reservoir Hill is a teen drama that was commissioned by public broadcaster TVNZ, while Girl Vs Boy is pitched as a romantic whodunit.
Factual content on the slate included Sundog Pictures’ Flatmates, which aired on Channel 4 in the UK.
Kids content includes Blue Zoo’s Olive the Ostrich. The preschool series was greenlit by Nick in the UK where it also airs on Channel 5.
DLT/Raydar will also be re-launching the DLT Entertainment gameshow format Talkabout.
Rayson set for return to Cannes
Distribution veteran Alison Rayson will be back at MipTV next month with a new slate as part of her joint venture with DLT Entertainment.
Last Mipcom, Rayson unveiled DLT/Raydar Rights, a joint venture with DLT, following her exit from now-defunct Target Entertainment. She has since picked up BBC1 primetime drama Our Girl for distribution.
The 1x90′ show debuted last Sunday night in the UK and stars Lacey Turner as a “disenfranchised inner-city tearaway” who joins the Army. The BBC production was written by Tony Grounds (Births, Marriages & Deaths) and directed by David Drury (Ashes to Ashes).
Other shows that DLT/Raydar will be taking to Cannes include Emmy-winning interactive teen thriller Reservoir Hill, created by New Zealand independent producer KHF Media for TVNZ. DLT/Raydar has international rights to both the finished programme and the format.
Also from KHF is romantic comedy Girl vs Boy, which is currently in production for a second season for TVNZ’s TV2, and Sundog Pictures’ Channel 4 factual commission Flatmates. Children’s content is in the mix with Blue Zoo’s preschool Nickelodeon series Olive the Ostrich, alongside DLT’s revamped 1980s gameshow format Talkabout.
Rayson said her alliance with DLT “will combine our strengths to build a diverse, innovative and original slate from the world’s best format creators and independent producers.”
The distribution exec left Target in October 2011, ahead of the company moving into administration after parent Metronome failed to find a buyer earlier this year.

NEW YORK, March 26, 2013 – Nickelodeon celebrates spring with a brand-new Peter Rabbit primetime special and the launch of the new animated preschool series, Lalaloopsy, on Friday, March 29. The half-hour Peter Rabbit special will premiere at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT), followed by the series launch of Lalaloopsy at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Peter Rabbit airs regularly weekdays at 12 p.m. (ET/PT) and Lalaloopsy will air regularly weekdays at 1:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.
Peter Rabbit is a fresh re-imagining of the popular Beatrix Potter children’s books based on Peter Rabbit, which have sold over 250 million copies worldwide and been translated into 35 languages. The series features educational goals that encourage preschoolers to learn problem-solving and interpersonal skills, self-efficacy, resilience, positive re-framing and fostering an interest in and respect for nature. In the Peter Rabbit special, “The Tale of the Start of Spring,” Jemima’s new egg goes missing and only Peter Rabbit is able to put together the clues in order to find the culprit. But can he find the egg before it hatches, or has he finally met his match in the devious newcomer, Samuel Whiskers?
Lalaloopsy is an animated series based on the award-winning, best-selling Lalaloopsy line that celebrates diversity, friendship and teamwork. The series stars the Lalaloopsy rag dolls — Crumbs Sugar Cookie, Mittens Fluff ‘n Stuff, Bea Spells-a-Lot, Rosy Bumps ‘N’ Bruises, Jewel Sparkles, Peanut Big Top, Spot Splatter Splash, and Dot Starlight – who magically came to life when their last stitch was sewn. Each character has their own personality based on the fabrics that were used to make them and a special pet. In the series premiere, “Batter Up!,” Berry Jars ‘n’ Jam tries to break the Lalaloopsy Land record for tallest stack of pancakes built in one day. She initially tries to do it by herself but, soon overwhelmed by the enormity of the task, turns to her Lalaloopsy friends who are happy to help.
At NickJr.com, Nickelodeon’s award-winning website, kids and parents can watch a sneak peek of the Peter Rabbit special and print out Peter Rabbit spring-themed activities including a coloring page and crafts. Beginning in April, preschoolers will be able to play the new online game “Peter Rabbit’s Downhill Dash.” Parents and kids can visit the new Lalaloopsy show page to meet the Lalaloopsy characters and watch exclusive webisodes. Plus, they can print out Lalaloopsy activities including a coloring pack, mazes, and puppets.
