Comedian And Former Nickelodeon UK Presenter Mike McClean To Perform At Witham Public Hall In Essex, UK On Saturday 2nd March 2013
The official website of the Braintree and Witham Times, a local newspaper of Braintree, Essex, UK, is reporting the news that comedian and former Nickelodeon UK presenter Mike McClean will be appearing and performing stand-up comedy when The Comedy Club, a nationally-renowned group with a firmly established reputation for making stars of its performers, visits Witham Public Hall, in Collingwood Road, Witham in Essex on Saturday 2nd March 2013!:
Witham: All-round talent at the comedy clubMike McClean was a Nickelodeon UK Presenter between 1996 and 1999, where he presented Nickelodeon UK's live in-vision continuity studio links in-between programmes, including for the Nickelodeon Programming Blocks "Nick AM" (Nickelodeon UK's live daily breakfast show) and "Nicktoons TV" (a block dedicated to animated Nickelodeon original shows), where he also portrayed a variety of comic characters, including the world renowned fussy art critic 'Michelangelo De La Toon', and also presented Nickelodeon UK's science and education show "Teck Nick", Nickelodeon UK's children's magazine show "And Now This", Nickelodeon UK's computer and video games review show "Fish and Chips" (with Bert The Fish!), Nickelodeon UK's music show "Sussed", and also presented Nickelodeon UK's continuity links for a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
All-rounder Mike McClean is the main attraction as the Comedy Club comes to Witham this weekend.
Mike, who originally trained as an actor, started his entertainment career in comedy, but rose to prominence as a television personality.
While touring his comedy magic act, he was spotted by a TV producer from children’s channel Nickelodeon, which gave him his first break on the small screen.
From there, he became the roving reporter on Channel 4’s cult show The Big Breakfast, interviewing celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Britney Spears.
In recent years, Mike has returned to his acting roots, playing Father Tony in comedy-drama series Shameless.
Joining Mike on the line-up this week is self-styled rock ‘n’ roll poet Paul B Edwards, whose set combines jokes, songs and poetry.
Proceedings will be hosted by former Club Mirror comedian of the year Kevin McCarthy.
The Comedy Club returns to Witham Public Hall, in Collingwood Road, on Saturday.
Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 9pm. Tickets are £12.50 in advance or £15 on the door.
