Character World launches new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles product range
A return to the small screen by iconic 90s cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is boosting business at licensing firm Character World.
The heroes in a half shelf will be featured on a range of products designed by Stockport-based Character World which include bedding, curtains, ponchos, towels, shaped cushions and fleeces.
The collection will be available this month in UK stores including Argos, Littlewoods, Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco and Toys R Us.
Interest in the range has been so strong that the business has had to extend the collection from its original plans.
The Turtles’ recent return to the small screen has proved hugely popular - the series launched on Nickelodeon at the end of last year and on ITV this spring.
The new series will be supported by the release of the Nickelodeon Movies blockbuster film scheduled for 2014.
The release offers fans a flash back to the 80’s, where they will see their favourite characters revamped, this time played by big screen favourites including Megan Fox and Whoopi Goldberg.
More products will be created leading up to the release of the film next year.
Tim Kilby, Character World’s brand director said: “The hero’s in a half shell are back! It’s another case of a retro brand being revived, playing on those nostalgic heartstrings. The brand has stood the test of time since the Turtles first appeared in a cartoon strip almost 30 years ago.
"The lines have continually been updated with new TV releases and toys, attracting an even larger fan base.
“We are extremely excited about the brand, having already experienced phenomenal demand for the products.”
