Nicktoons is set to join sister networks Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. in Mexico starting next month. With the addition of the 24-hour animation channel, Nickelodeon will soon reach roughly 20 million TV households in the country.
Nicktoons, which will launch on Cablevision, Megacable and Cablemas, will air series such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Kung Fu Panda and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Brazilian free-to-air broadcaster Bandeirantes has closed a four-year branded block package that includes kids and teen animation and live action programming. Chilean broadcaster Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (UCVTV) has also closed a two-year branded preschool block including Nick Jr. staples Dora The Explorer, Team Umizoomis and Bubble Guppies. El Salvador’s Canal 12 has closed a three-year branded block deal that includes Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob Squarepants, while Panama's TVN-2 closed a three-year branded block deal that includes Big Time Rush, Fanboy and Chum Chum, Kung Fu Panda, Penguins of Madagascar, and Tuff Puppy.

Nicktoons moves into Mexico
NEWS BRIEF: Animation channel Nicktoons is set to launch in Mexico next month, making iconic shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles available 24/7.
Targeting 6-14s, the channel will be available on Cablevision, Megacable and Cablemas from February 4. It joins Nickelodeon and Nick Jr in Mexico, giving Nick a combined reach of 20 million households in the territory. Viacom has also secured branded blocks on free-to-air across Latin America.
