Nickelodeon UK To Host "iCarly Best Frenemies" Weekend Over 18th & 19th February 2012

According to the official Nickelodeon UK and Ireland websites, Nick.co.uk, "What's On Nickelodeon/HD" schedule section, and Nickelodeon UK's new "iCarly Best Frenemies" trailer/promo (below with transcript), Nickelodeon UK and Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK will be holding a special "iCarly" programming stunt over Saturday 18th February 2012 and Sunday 19th February 2012 called "Best Frenemies", which will featuring four "iCarly" marathons (two on each day).

Below is the full "iCarly" episode line-up for each of Nick UK and Ireland's and Nick HD UK's "iCarly" marathons which Nick UK and Ireland and Nick UK HD will show as part of Nickelodeon UK's "iCarly Best Frenemies" programming stunt:

Nickelodeon Veteran Sal Maniaci Becomes Senior Vice President Of Nickelodeon Events And Original Programming

Sal Maniaci to head up original programming at Nick

Industry veteran Sal Maniaci is headed back to the Nickelodeon fold as its new SVP of event and original programming.

Based in New York, Maniaci will report to Marjorie Cohn, the president of original programming and development at Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, and will be responsible for overseeing production of Nickelodeon’s franchise events, including the Kids’ Choice Awards, the TeenNick HALO Awards and Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play.

He will also supervise current series for Nick at Nite’s new slate of family entertainment, including the recently announced telenovela, Reach For A Star.

Maniaci was most recently SVP of development and original programming for TV Land. Prior to an executive stint at The New TNN (now Spike TV), Maniaci was VP of current series at Nickelodeon, where he worked on hit properties Kenan & Kel, The Amanda Show, Figure It Out and the annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Maniaci originally joined Nickelodeon in 1994.

Nickelodeon India Acquires The Cable TV Rights To Animated Series "Chuck Chicken"

Indian deal for Neptuno’s Chicken

Nickelodeon India has bought the cable TV rights to a European and Asian animated coproduction about a crime-fighting bird with kung-fu skills.

Chuck Chicken (26x22’) is a collaboration between Neptuno Films of Barcelona, Hong-Kong-based Agogo International and Animasia, which produces out of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The toon, formerly known as Kung-Fu Chicken, targets seven- to 11-year-olds and is the second recent coproduction between Neptuno and Animasia, following 2010's ABC Monsters (26x22’).

The Indian deal comes after Nickelodeon India, which is available in over 34.2 million households in the country, acquired rights to all 700 episodes of Saban Brands’ children’s live-action series Power Rangers late last year.

Meanwhile, Neptuno’s co-founder and MD Cristina Brandner told C21 her company will enter the Chinese toy market this year. The Spanish firm hopes to launch its Megaminimals brand in China by Christmas, alongside a new line of related merchandise to be produced by China’s Alpha Toys & Animation.

Alpha Toys & Animation is the second Chinese coproducer on the Megaminimals project, joining Agogo on a second series (156x6’) of the toon, which is set in a nursery school for young animals.

The first series of Megaminimals (104x6’) airs on Chello Zone’s Jim Jam (Asia), as well as RaiSat’s children’s channel YoYo (Italy) and Televisió de Catalunya (Spain).

Nickelodeon UK Unveils The UK-Specific Nominations For The Nickelodeon 2012 Kids' Choice Awards

The UK's "Nickelodeon 2012 Kids' Choice Awards" nominees are in!

Nickelodeon UK and Ireland have announced on Nick UK and Ireland's official "Nickelodeon 2012 Kids' Choice Awards" website, kca.nick.co.uk, the UK-specific categories and nominees which will be part of Nickelodeon UK's version of the "Nickelodeon 2012 Kids' Choice Awards".

This year, Nickelodeon UK and Ireland viewers will be able to vote in seven UK-exclusive "Nickelodeon 2012 Kids' Choice Awards" category's and pick and choose their favourites from 24 nominees from the world of television, music, and movies, including the hit Nickelodeon mystery series "House Of Anubis", UK-Irish boy band "One Direction", the stars of "Doctor Who", and the boyband "JLS".
