'Kenan doesn't want to be seen with me': Former Nickelodeon star Kel Mitchell says the comedy duo will never reunite
Over recent years TV has seen the return of 90210, Dallas and a number of classic American programmes.
But the hopes for a Kenan and Kel reunion have been quashed as the comedy duo are no longer on speaking terms.
Although the breakdown of communication is apparently one-sided as Kel Mitchell says his former comedy partner KenanThomas'is actively avoiding him.'
Not speaking: Kenan Thomas and Kel Mitchell, who were big in the 1990's, are no longer on speaking terms
In an interview with TMZ.com, the actor who played the orange-soda loving character of the same name said: 'The truth is Kenan does not want to be seen with me in any form of media, or even have my name mentioned around him.'
The Nickelodeon show was first broadcast in 1996, and followed the comedy capers of teens Kenan Rockmore and Kel Kimble for four years until the show was cancelled in 2000.
In that time the pair made 65 episodes and a made-for-TV film but since then Kenan and Kel have gone their separate ways.
High profile: On the sketch show Kenan has performed with a plethora of A List stars who guest host the show each week
Arguably, Kenan has enjoyed the most success since the show finished and is now the longest serving cast member of Saturday Night Live since joining in 2003.
The 34-year-old is currently working on a new NBC comedy pilot but his former co-star has not been approached to star.
According to Kel the pair were supposed to reunite for a magazine interview but the SNL star pulled out.
SNL: Kenan is the longest serving member in the current Saturday Nigh Live cast alongside Jason Sudeikis and Bill Hader
Moved on: Despite their success in the 1990's, the pair are no longer friends
No doubt trying to distance himself out of fear from only being remembered for the Nickelodeon role that shot him to fame.
But the former Kel Kimble doesn't hold a grudge but 'respects his choice of wanting to make a name for himself solo.'
Kel's most recent projects have been in animation lending his voice to shows Wild Grinders and Motorcity.
