ZDF dances with TeenNick
Nickelodeon-owned TeenNick has picked up the Aussie-made drama Dance Academy from ZDF Enterprises.
The tween-aimed US specialty is set to air the 52x26′ series, which follows the efforts of young dancers training at a prestigious school, starting on February 20.
“The elements of music, dance and competition, combined with the ups and downs of teen life, make Dance Academy a fresh and relevant addition to TeenNick’s lineup,” said Keith Dawkins, senior VP and general manager of Nicktoons and TeenNick.
The series is produced by Australia’s Werner Productions in partnership with Germany’s ZDF, ABC Australia and the Australian Children’s Television Foundation.
