NEWS BRIEF: Nickelodeon UK's preschool TV channel Nick Jr is premiering a year of seasonal gardening-themed short films, supported by a specially developed interactive online garden.
Little Green Fingers, a series of 12 two-minute films following young children carrying out a range of garden-related activities, will air from tomorrow (Saturday March 3) on Nick Jr and sister channel Nick Jr 2.
The films will be accompanied by a microsite, devised by production house Jam Creative, on the channel's website (www.nickjr.co.uk) where users can interact with a virtual garden and learn how to do the gardening projects at home.

Nickelodeon, Nicktoons catch Scurvy Rascals
NEWS BRIEF: Nickelodeon Channels and Nicktoons Network in the US have acquired the worldwide multi-platform rights to children's CGI series Those Scurvy Rascals, which includes TV, online and digital mobile.
The deal, inked with global entertainment rights firm Entara, sees 26x3.5' episodes scheduled for launch in spring 2007 across all Nickelodeon channels.

Nickelodeon UK Commissions Second Series Of Genie in the House

The second season of live action comedy series Genie in the House has been jointly commissioned by Nickelodeon U.K. and France's Canal J. The second season (26x30) from Moi j'aime la telévision and Helion Pictures will air in fall 2007. AB Distribution reps the series internationally and will bring both seasons (52 eps) to this April's MIPTV. Genie in the House is about the absurd and funny situations two girls find themselves in when they find an old lamp and its teenage genie.
Nickelodeon Movies Acquires Unicorn

Nick Movies has acquired Unicorn, a fantasy-comedy script from writer Joe Aucoin, according to Variety. The project has been set-up with producer John Jacobs and his company Smart Entertainment. Set in NYC, the story revolves around a 5-year-old girl who wants a unicorn.
Nickelodeon USA kicks off Slime Across America

Nickelodeon kicks off Slime Across America, a 50 market interactive tour, this coming Monday, February 26, 2007 in Orlando, Florida at the Nick Hotel. The tour will then work its way, in an 18-wheel Slime Mobile driven by the infamous Pick Boy, to the initial 20 slimy stops in as many markets arriving in LA for the 20th Annual Kids' Choice Awards on March 31. The remaining 30 market tour stops will take place after Kids' Choice. Among the tour features are the Nick Live! Slime Edition stage show, a user generated content area where kids can create content to submit to Nick's new me:tv programming block (5-7p), walk-around characters, and select stops will also feature Nickelodeon talent and national and local celebrities, and of course someone is gonna get slimed. The network will televise several of the slimmings during me:tv, beginning March 11-31. Additionally, the Orlando kick-off event will be featured on TEENick on March 11.
