Nickelodeon UK's new website focuses on VOD and user content

From Technology Weekly:

Nickelodeon UK site focuses on VOD and user content

Nickelodeon has relaunched its UK website to include video-on-demand.

The site revamp, by interactive agency Lightmaker, will include user-generated content and new games, with VoD available on every page.

The user-generated part of the site will let children create a 'scrapbook' area to personalise with their favourite content. Users can then share their spaces with their friends.

Andy Goodhand, VP of planning and presentation at Nickelodeon, said the site's relaunch coincides with a major digital push at the channel.

"We're constantly striving to give kids exactly what they want and developing new ideas," he said. "This includes fresh gaming every week and campaign sites giving greater depth of content for every show.

"We've invested in research to understand children's relationship with digital technologies- the hows and whys behind their current behaviour and the likely drivers of their future relationships," he added.

You can visit Nickelodeon UK's brand new website at www.nick.co.uk.

Nickelodeon has announced details of the first ever Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards UK.

In its 20th year in the US, the event has been massively popular on the channel with a global audience in excess of 205 million, but this is first time the UK will host its own prize giving.

The awards, which are voted for by Nickelodeon viewers, will be held at the Excel Centre in London on Saturday October 20. Nominees will be announced in July.

Howard Litton, senior vice president and managing director of Nickelodeon UK, said: "We are proud to be bringing the Kids' Choice Awards to the UK for the first time this year.
