Taiwan goes with the MediaFlo
NEWS BRIEF: Taiwanese broadcaster TTV is running a mobile TV trial in the country using Qualcomm's MediaFlo system, the first commercial version of which was introduced in the US last week by Verizon.
TTV is working with China Network Systems (CNS), a joint venture between News Corp's Star Group and the Koos Group, on the technical trial, which is due to get under way in Taipei later this month.
Three live TTV channels and four from CNS will feature as part of the service. Verizon's eight-channel MediaFlo-based offer went live last week, offering shows from CBS, Comedy Central, ESPN, Fox, MTV, NBC News, NBC Entertainment and Nickelodeon, costing US$15 per month.
