This year marks the 25th anniversary of Nickelodeon's beloved preschool property,
Dora the Explorer, and Nickelodeon is kicking off the celebrations with the launch of their brand new Dora the Explorer Instagram page,

Since its launch on Nickelodeon on August 14, 2000, Dora the Explorer quickly emerged as a global pop-culture phenomenon and, nearly 25 years later, remains one of the most-watched preschool shows of all time. Dora has crossed social, racial and language boundaries and stands as a hero and friend to millions of children around the world. The series is seen in more than 150 countries and territories and translated in 32 languages on Nickelodeon channels and Paramount+ around the globe and through syndication. Dora the Explorer was created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes and Eric Weiner.
Throughout its original eight-season run, Dora the Explorer received countless accolades, including Emmy®, Peabody, NAACP, Alma, Imagen, Latino Spirit, Gracie Allen, Parents’ Choice, Common Sense Media and Television Critics Association awards.
Dora made a triumph return in 2024 with the debut of her brand new series,
DORA, boasting an all-new look and new animation style. Currently in its second season, the series has already been greenlit through to season four, which will introduce viewers to new thematic elements, and making it one of the largest multi-season commitments in Nickelodeon's history! Nickelodeon will also treat fans to ongoing digital content, with new
Dora videos and shorts set to launch across the Dora official
YouTube channel, Nick Jr. and
Toymation in 2025.
The series stars Diana Zermeño as Dora; Asher Colton Spence as Boots; Anairis Quiñones as Map and The Fiesta Trio’s Armadillo; Marc Weiner as Swiper; Mike Smith Rivera as Papi; Maria Canals-Barrera as Abuela; Danny Burstein as Grumpy Old Troll and The Fiesta Trio’s Frog and Marmoset; Katarina Sky as Backpack; Donovan Monzon-Sanders as Tico; Tandi Fomukong as Isa; Quintún Muñoz as Benny; Chris Gifford as Big Red Chicken; and Kathleen Herles, the original voice of Dora the Explorer, as Mami. Additional guest stars include Taboo as Quickatoo and Kate del Castillo as Ale the Alebrije. Dascha Polanco (Orange is the New Black, In the Heights) joins season two as La Reina.
DORA is produced by Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank, Calif., and created by Chris Gifford and Valerie Walsh Valdes. Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes and Rich Magallanes serve as executive producers. Henry Lenardin-Madden serves as co-executive producer, and Alejandro Bien-Willner serves as story editor. Marielle Kaar is Nickelodeon's Executive in Charge of Production for the series.
Fans can also look forward to an extensive DORA consumer product line, spanning toys, books, apparel and much more, as well as the brand new live-action movie, Dora & the Search for Sol Dorado, scheduled to premiere later this year on Nickelodeon and Paramount+!
Starring Samantha Lorraine (
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah) as the title role and Jacob Rodriguez (
Tell Me Lies) as Diego, the adventurous and resourceful cousin of Dora, the film will watch as Dora, Diego, and their new friends trek through the perilous dangers of the Amazonian jungle in search of the ancient and powerful treasure of Sol Dorado to keep it out of enemy hands. The new live-action family film being produced for Nickelodeon and Paramount+ by Nickelodeon Studios. The movie is being directed by Alberto Belli (

Season one and season two of
