NEW CBS COMEDY GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE RECEIVES FULL SEASON ORDER
CBS announced today (Oct. 30) a full season order for GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE. Starring Montana Jordan and Emily Osment, the new comedy, created and executive produced by Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland, expands the universe of THE BIG BANG THEORY and YOUNG SHELDON.
“With the resounding success of THE BIG BANG THEORY and YOUNG SHELDON, we were instantly on board when Chuck, Steven and Steve brought us the idea to further explore this world through GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “The enthusiastic audience reception has demonstrated the enormous appeal of these characters and we can’t wait to see all of the hilarious fun this season will undoubtedly deliver.”
According to VideoAmp and Paramount+ internal data, the premiere episode for GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE amassed 10.6 million multiplatform viewers in its first seven days, up versus YOUNG SHELDON’s final season premiere on Feb. 15. Streaming on Paramount+ and CBS TVE (CBS.com / CBS App) is up +72% from the last season debut of YOUNG SHELDON on an AMA basis.
GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE follows Georgie (Jordan) and Mandy (Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage. Rachel Bay Jones, Will Sasso, Dougie Baldwin and Jessie Prez also star.
GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE airs on Thursdays, (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and is available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

CBS had another strong fall launch with the Matlock reimagening and Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage leading the pack of new scripted series, both setting new ratings benchmarks for the network. With fellow newbies NCIS: Origins and Poppa’s House right behind on the leaderboard and the CBS quartet delivering the largest linear viewership of any freshmen series, all four have received additional episodic orders.
Matlock, starring Kathy Bates, was among the series whose premiere was pushed from 2023-24 to 2024-25 by the strikes. The longer lead time allowed the network to see more scripts in advance and get a better sense of where the legal drama was going, resulting in a full-season 18-episode Season 1 order, a rarity for a broadcast show that originated as a pilot.

The bet paid off. Matlock, which started production in spring, wrapped its order days after a preview of the first episode drew 7.73M Live+Same Day viewers to sets a 5-year non-Super Bowl premiere high for CBS. (The number grew to 10.67M in L+3). After the ratings held up in the second airing, CBS gave Matlock a very early Season 2 renewal.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has become the third consecutive hit in The Big Bang Theory universe, following the original and prequel Young Sheldon. Drawing the strongest demo ratings of any freshman series so far this season, the multi-camera comedy was quickly given a Back 9 order for a rare full-season 22 episodes.
The other two CBS freshmen, NCIS: Origins and Poppa’s House, also have secured back orders (5 episodes each) for full-season 18 episodes, a typical season length by current broadcast standards.
Traditionally, new midseason series get a 13-episode Season 2 renewal that could subsequently get padded with a back order if the show continues to perform. That does not apply to CBS’ midseason 2024 entries, Tracker and Elsbeth. Both did well in their first seasons, with Tracker ranking as the top entertainment series on broadcast, so both had received full-season 20-episode Season 2 pickups.
Next up is CBS’ new drama Watson, which is getting a premiere after the AFC Championship Game in January.

Stockholm International Filmfestival | SkyShowtime
Last week, SkyShowtime joined the Stockholm International Film Festival as its official streaming partner for the second year running, bringing an incredible selection of films and TV shows to an international audience. 🍿
This year, they had the privilege of sharing upcoming SkyShowtime Original End of Summer as part of the official festival line-up. Series leads Julia Ragnarsson and Erik Enge joined cast and crew on the red carpet, before the screening of episodes 1 and 2, which included a Q&A with producers.
🎞 SkyShowtime's Chief Content Officer Kai Finke also joined the streaming service at the festival, kicking off the Industry Days programme with a packed out Meet the Streamers session.
Finally, SkyShowtime were excited to premiere the latest episode of epic Cowboy saga Yellowstone Season 5B with a themed red carpet event at Bio Skandia including Cowboy hats, country music and their very own Dutton ranch! 🤠 🐎
