Monster High Partners with Anti-Bullying Alliance

The partnership was announced this Anti-Bullying Week, along with new research into the state of bullying for children in the UK today and new resources for children and parents to tackle issues.

This Anti-Bullying Week, 10th – 15th November, Monster High has announced a new partnership with the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) charity in efforts to tackle bullying, along with new findings showing that a third of children in the UK admitted that they have felt as though they don’t ‘fit in’, while as many as 37% have been bullied in some form by their fellow peers and a further six in 10 have witnessed it happening to their classmates.

A poll of 1,000 UK children aged 6-11 carried out via OnePoll found that 75% of kids don’t think their parents know the full extent of bullying happening at their school, and 59% say the same about their teachers, while 22% feel they can’t truly be themselves because they’re afraid of what others might say.

To support efforts to reduce bullying, Monster High and the ABA have created resources for both children and parents, providing tools on how to deal with bullying. The children’s resource is guided by Monster High’s characters to empower conversations in a child-friendly way and a further resource for parents aims to help them identify signs of bullying and help their children through this.

Mattel’s Monster High brand is a toy and content franchise with characters that embrace what makes them unique. Monster High Project Belonging is a global initiative expanding the brand’s mission of acceptance and inclusivity by creating a world where everyone feels proud of who they are by uncovering a greater understanding of belonging in adolescence.

The ABA unites organisations to stop bullying and foster safer spaces for young people. It supports a vast network of organisations and schools, shares best practices, raises awareness through campaigns including coordinating Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks Day each November and delivers impactful programmes across the UK. It is based at the National Children’s Bureau.

Martha Evans, director of the Anti-Bullying Alliance, said: “These findings are concerning, showing that many children face fears of exclusion and bullying, which can have lasting impacts. This Anti-Bullying Week, we can change the narrative by choosing respect to create safer, inclusive spaces where all children belong. Adults must lead by example, showing respect in action. We’re excited to partner with Monster High to promote anti-bullying and foster kindness.”

CBS today announced winter premiere dates for new and returning series on the 2024-25 primetime schedule, including new series HOLLYWOOD SQUARES and WATSON, fan favorites SURVIVOR and THE AMAZING RACE, plus the return of THE PRICE IS RIGHT AT NIGHT, RAID THE CAGE and NCIS: SYDNEY.

THE PRICE IS RIGHT AT NIGHT (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), hosted by Drew Carey, and RAID THE CAGE, hosted by Damon Wayans Jr. and Jeannie Mai (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), return to launch a night of games on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025.

HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, starring award-winning actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore as the center square, and hosted by Nate Burleson (co-host of NFL SLIMETIME, CBS MORNINGS and analyst for THE NFL TODAY), premieres Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). The classic game show features two contestants playing tic-tac-toe with celebrity guests to win money and prizes. Celebrity guests will be announced at a later date. HOLLYWOOD SQUARES moves to Wednesdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) as part of CBS Game Night, beginning on Jan. 29 as original Thursday episodes of CBS scripted series return to the lineup beginning Jan. 30. New episodes of CBS’ scripted series return to the schedule the last week in January, beginning Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025 with the WATSON series premiere following the AFC Championship Game. WATSON will air in its regular time period beginning Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), followed by THE EQUALIZER in its new time period at 10:00 PM, ET/PT. The #HappyKidding campaign has always celebrated the power of imagination, curiosity and this year’s activities bring a fresh wave of inspiration to schools across the country. Nickelodeon engaged kids in a ‘Story-Telling Session,’ where one kid would start a story, and the next would add their twist to make it a dreamy and fascinating story. This interactive journey of storytelling created moments of joy, surprise, and collaboration, as kids brought their own ideas and personalities to an ever-evolving tale.

Adding to the celebration, Nickelodeon’s ‘Imagination Wall’ invited kids to draw or paint their most creative thoughts. From whimsical landscapes to inventive heroes, the wall became a colourful testament to the boundless creativity of young minds. Through these activities, Nickelodeon reaffirmed its commitment to providing kids with joyful spaces where their thoughts and dreams are celebrated, allowing each child to experience the magic of their own creativity.

Nickelodeon’s iconic characters, Chikoo and Bunty, further spread cheer as they joined kids in the festivities, from the energetic halls of Rama Krishna Sr. Secondary School in Delhi to the buzzing classrooms at Lalji Mehrotra Lions School and Vedant International School in Ahmedabad, and the imaginative settings at JBCN International and Ecole Mondiale World School in Mumbai.

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish will make its international debut on Netflix in mid-November, with the series also making its streaming debut on Netflix in the U.S. on Thursday, November 14.

Update (11/15): Netflix has added the first 10 episodes of The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish globally!

In regions outside the U.S., where the series has not aired yet, The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish will be a Netflix Original. In the U.S., where the show has already aired on Nickelodeon, the series will continue to carry Nickelodeon branding.

In The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, ten-year-old Hazel Wells has just moved to the big city of Dimmadelphia because of her dad’s new job. On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it’s the first time she’s been without her brother, Antony, who’s just left for college, leaving her lonely and unsure of herself. All that changes when the pink-and-green-haired neighbors next door reveal that they are no ordinary neighbors…they’re Cosmo and Wanda, Fairy Godparents! And they’re coming out of retirement to make all of Hazel’s wishes come true. As well as new characters, the series brings back many from the original series, including Vicky, Mr. Crocker, CJ, and Poof, who now goes by the name of Peri. The series also features many Easter eggs calling back to the original show.


The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish stars Ashleigh Crystal Hairston (Tiny Toons Looniversity, Craig of the Creek) as the voice of Hazel Wells, joining The Fairly OddParents alums Daran Norris (The Loud House, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder) as the voice of Cosmo, and Susanne Blakeslee (The Loud House, Amphibia) as the voice of Wanda.

The CG-animated series, which features a brand new art style for the franchise, is produced by Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank and is co-executive produced by David Stone (Teen Titans Go!), Lindsay Katai (Infinity Train), Ashleigh Crystal Hairston, and Daniel Abramovici (The Peanuts Movie). Fred Seibert (Adventure Time) and Butch Hartman (The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom) serve as Executive Producers. Production is overseen by Claudia Spinelli, Senior Vice President, TV Series Animation, Nickelodeon, and Kelley Gardner, Vice President, Current Series, Animation, Nickelodeon. 'The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish' Showrunner Talks Future Plans For Show; How Fans Can Help Get the Show Renewed For Season Two

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, a sequel to Nickelodeon's beloved animated The Fairly OddParents, made its debut to critical acclaim in May 2024, with fans saying that A New Wish has put the magic back into the franchise. With all 20 episodes of its first season now aired, and the first 10 episodes now available on Netflix globally, fans are eager to know whether Hazel, Cosmo and Wanda will be back for a second season.

Unfortunately, at the time of posting, a sophomore season for A New Wish has yet to be announced, however, with the first half of season one now available on Netflix, fans and the show's production team are hopeful for a season two.

Speaking to our friends over at What's on Netflix to celebrate the launch of The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish on Netflix, Lindsay Katai, one of the showrunners on the new The Fairly OddParents series, talks about the crew's frustration on the show not yet being renewed, and what she hopes to include in future episodes, and how fans can help get the show renewed:

Fans seem aware online that you’ve yet to be officially picked up for a season 2 – can you talk about any plans you’d have for the show going forward if you were to get picked up, and what’s the best way fans can assist in any renewal?

Yeah, because Nickelodeon aired every episode we produced, we’ve been able to be very open about not having a season two yet. This is a spoiler for season one (and only the first half of season one will be on Netflix as of November 14th; we don’t yet know when the second half will be available to stream), but if we get another season, I’m most excited to include Hazel’s friends and brother in the wishes now that they’re allowed to know about fairies. That was a change in the show’s DNA I was pushing as early as the brainstorm. I was so excited they let us make that change and then we didn’t get an immediate pickup and I kept wailing, ”THEN WHAT WAS IT ALL FOR?” It was such a darkly comic thing to happen, to let us open up the world like that and then to have Papa Paramount be like, “Actually, all shows now have to wait for viewer data before getting a decision about more episodes.” And for us, because Netflix was a producing partner from the beginning, that meant we had to wait until we premiered on Netflix! We’re animated, are you kidding me, do you know how long that will take? Like, I got pregnant in the third week of development, and my kid is two years old now, and we are still hoping for a second season.

So anyway, the best way for fans to help is to watch it on Netflix, watch it all, watch it in the first week, watch it AGAIN, tell everyone you know to watch it and keep posting about the show on social media. The only way we’ll come back is if we have the numbers and I sincerely hope we come back.
