Miranda Cosgrove Hints That ‘iCarly’ Movie May Be In the Works, Says New Project Will ‘Wrap Up’ Cliffhangers After Revival’s Cancellation

Miranda Cosgrove discussed a possible iCarly movie on her latest appearance on the daytime show The Talk.

'iCarly' season three

The actor told hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Sheryl Underwood and Natalie Morales, “So, I’m not allowed to 100% confirm anything yet but I think the fans of the show are going to be super excited because we have something in the works.”

When Morales further pressed Cosgrove about whether this meant “bringing back old favorites,” Cosgrove replied, “Yes, and we actually ended the revival on a cliffhanger, and we’re going to wrap that up.”

The original Nickelodeon series ran from 2007 to 2012 for six seasons. In 2020, it was rebooted by Paramount+ and ran for an additional three seasons before the show was canceled between 2021-2023.

Jaidyn Triplett as Millicent, Jerry Trainor as Spencer, Miranda Cosgrove as Carly, Nathan Kress as Freddie, Laci Mosley as Harper in 'iCarly' Season 2 on Paramount+.

The reboot continued Carly Shay’s (Cosgrove) storyline ten years later reuniting her with her brother Spencer (Jerry Trainer) and her go-to camera Freddie (Nathan Kress). The three look to bring back her popular web show, running into many of the original cast members on the way in addition to some new personalities.

Before the iCarly reboot was canceled, the third season left fans at the edge of their seats by hinting at the idea of Carly’s mother finally being revealed to the audience. Fans were also eager to see if Carly and Freddie would finally get together.

Among the new cast members were Harper (Laci Mosley) and Freddie’s stepdaughter Millicent (Jaidyn Triplett). The reboot was produced by Nickelodeon Studios and Awesomeness and executive produced by Jay Kogen and Ali Schouten. Cosgrove served as executive producer, with Trainor and Alissa Vradenburg serving as producers.

Both iCarly shows can be streamed in full on Paramount+. Try it FREE at ParamountPlus.com.

Nickelodeon recently unwrapped sneak peeks from both specials during their SpongeBob SquarePants 25 panel at New York Comic Con 2024 in October.

Nickelodeon is also slated to premiere the SpongeBob SquarePants stop-motion 25th anniversary special, “SpongeBob & Sandy’s Country Christmas” in December.

Nickelodeon also announced during their NYCC panel that The Patrick Star Show has been renewed for seasons four (13 episodes) and five (13 episodes), which will continue to tell brand-new stories about one of the most beloved best friends in TV history--Patrick Star. The Patrick Star Show, the second SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff, stars Patrick and the rest of his family as they are constantly disrupted by his wild whims and surreal imagination. All-new season three episodes will continue to air across Nickelodeon.

In The Patrick Star Show, long-time voice of Patrick Star, Bill Fagerbakke lends his voice as the young adult Patrick alongside new cast members: Tom Wilson (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Cecil Star; Cree Summer (Rugrats) as Bunny Star; Jill Talley (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Squidina Star and Dana Snyder (The Thundermans) as GrandPat Star. Summer also voices Grandma Tentacles, Squidward’s Grandma.

Additional cast members include veteran SpongeBob SquarePants actors Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward Tentacles), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton).

Marc Ceccarelli (SpongeBob SquarePants), Vincent Waller (SpongeBob SquarePants) and Jennie Monica (SpongeBob SquarePants) are co-executive producers of the series. The Patrick Star Show is developed for television by Claudia Spinelli, Senior Vice President (SVP) of Animation Development, Nickelodeon, with production overseen by Kelley Gardner, Vice President (VP), Current Series, Animation, Nickelodeon.

Moderated by Matt Forte (Podcast Host & Writer), Nickelodeon's SpongeBob 25 NYCC panel highlights include:

  • A clip reveal from the upcoming half-hour 25th anniversary special, SpongeBob SquarePants, “Snow Yellow,” slated to debut in November on Nickelodeon. In the special, when Snow Yellow is deemed the “squarest of them all,” the evil Queen Karen seeks to claim the title for herself by any means necessary.
  • An exclusive first look at the stop-motion 25th anniversary special SpongeBob SquarePants, “SpongeBob & Sandy’s Country Christmas” premiering in December on Nickelodeon and Paramount+. In the half-hour special, when one of Sandy’s experiments goes awry, the Cheeks family team up to save Christmas in Bikini Bottom. The special features Craig Robinson as Pa Cheeks, Johnny Knoxville as Randy Cheeks, and Grey Delisle as Ma Cheeks, Granny Cheeks, Rosie and Rowdy reprising their roles as Sandy Cheek’s family from the recently released movie Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie.
  • Voice cast members Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) conducted live scene reads from two fan-favorite episodes, “Band Geeks” (season 2) and “Scaredy Pants” (season 1).

Since its launch July 17, 1999, SpongeBob SquarePants has generated a universe of beloved characters, pop culture catchphrases and memes, theatrical releases, consumer products, a Tony award-winning Broadway musical and a global fan base. SpongeBob SquarePants is one of the most widely distributed properties in Paramount history, seen in more than 180 markets, translated in 30+ languages, and averaging more than 90 million total viewers every quarter. SpongeBob SquarePants was created by Stephen Hillenburg and produced by Nickelodeon in Burbank, Calif. The character-driven cartoon chronicles the nautical and sometimes nonsensical adventures of SpongeBob, an incurable optimist and earnest sea sponge, and his undersea friends.

CBS announced today (Nov. 12) that BEYOND THE GATES, the new daytime drama series and debut project from the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, will premiere Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, and air weekdays (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+*.

The series began production in Atlanta, Ga., this month and stars Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Daphnee Duplaix, Karla Mosley, Alex Alegria, Lauren Buglioli, Brandon Claybon, Timon Kyle Durrett, Sean Freeman, Ben Gavin, Marquita Goings, Jibre Hordges, Jen Jacob, Maurice Johnson, Trisha Mann-Grant, Mike Manning, RhonniRose Mantilla, Ambyr Michelle, Colby Muhammad and Arielle Prepetit.

BEYOND THE GATES is set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., and in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States. Here you’ll find a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those who live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have “made it” and those who haven’t are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.

BEYOND THE GATES is developed and produced by the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, led by Sheila Ducksworth, in partnership with P&G Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. This marks the first-ever one-hour Black daytime soap and the first daytime drama to premiere since Passions in 1999.

Michele Val Jean is the creator, executive producer and showrunner alongside executive producers Sheila Ducksworth, Robert Guza Jr., Julie Carruthers, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Kimberly Doebereiner and Anna Saalfeld.

*Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers will have access to stream live via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service, as well as on-demand. Paramount+ Essential subscribers will not have the option to stream live, but will have access to on-demand the day after the special airs.

CBS Orders 'The Road', A New Singing Competition Series From Executive Producers Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan For Fall 2025

CBS ORDERS THE ROAD, A NEW SINGING COMPETITION SERIES FROM EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS BLAKE SHELTON AND TAYLOR SHERIDAN FOR FALL 2025

CBS Orders 'The Road', A New Singing Competition Series From Executive Producers Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan For Fall 2025

CBS has announced that the new singing competition series THE ROAD (working title) has been ordered to series for fall 2025. From executive producers Blake Shelton, Taylor Sheridan, Lee Metzger and David Glasser, the docu-follow format trails a headlining superstar (to be announced) on their journey to discover the next big artist. Singers will join the headliner on tour, performing as opening acts in venues across the country. They will compete to win over local fanbases to secure a spot in the next city and remain on the tour.

The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, Glasser’s 101 Studios with Shelton and Metzger’s Lucky Horseshoe Productions. Taylor Sheridan and David Glasser serve as executive producers. Blake Shelton and Lee Metzger serve as executive producers for Lucky Horseshoe Productions.

“I’m a big fan of Taylor’s incredible work, and I’m excited to team with him and my long-time collaborator, Lee, on THE ROAD,” said Shelton. “I know a thing or two about singing competitions and what it’s like to chase a music dream and live life on tour. I’m looking forward to discovering new talent and giving them this platform.”

“There is a revolution taking place in country music. Building a platform with Blake for the next leaders of that revolution is an incredibly exciting venture,” said Sheridan. “No more shiny floors and studio audiences. This is where the rubber meets the road – literally. Get in the van, go to the next town and win the crowd. Do it enough, and you become the next leader. Simple as that.”

“This project has been a true labor of love that Taylor, Blake, Lee and I have been talking about for some time now,” said Glasser. “I can’t thank CBS enough for supporting us on this journey to bring an incredible project to audiences everywhere.”

“Blake and I have been working together a long time and now joining forces with Taylor and David is literally the kind of team you dream about to bring something of this scale to country music fans,” said Metzger.

THE ROAD offers viewers a backstage pass into the gritty and unforgiving life of a touring artist. With exclusive access to the behind-the-scenes workings of the music industry, viewers will see what happens when some of the best up-and-coming performers pile into a tour bus and tackle a grueling schedule in pursuit of their dreams.
