NEW YORK— (Oct. 18, 2024)—Nickelodeon treated fans to an exclusive SpongeBob SquarePants panel at New York Comic Con 2024, celebrating its rich origins and revealing what’s ahead for the world’s most famous sea sponge and Bikini Bottom denizens. Legendary voices Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), along with executive producers Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller, brought the F.U.N. to continue the monumental 25^th anniversary celebration of the animated series.

Moderated by Matt Forte (Podcast Host & Writer), panel highlights include:

• Announcement of The Patrick Star Show’s renewal for seasons four (13 episodes) and five (13 episodes), which will continue to tell brand-new stories about one of the most beloved best friends in TV history--Patrick Star. The Patrick Star Show, the second SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff, stars Patrick and the rest of his family as they are constantly disrupted by his wild whims and surreal imagination. All-new season three episodes will continue to air across Nickelodeon.

 

• A clip reveal from the upcoming half-hour 25^th anniversary special, SpongeBob SquarePants, “Snow Yellow,” slated to debut in November on Nickelodeon. In the special, when Snow Yellow is deemed the “squarest of them all,” the evil Queen Karen seeks to claim the title for herself by any means necessary.

• An exclusive first look at the stop-motion 25^th anniversary special SpongeBob SquarePants, “SpongeBob & Sandy’s Country Christmas” premiering in December on Nickelodeon and Paramount+. In the half-hour special, when one of Sandy’s experiments goes awry, the Cheeks family team up to save Christmas in Bikini Bottom. The special features Craig Robinson as Pa Cheeks, Johnny Knoxville as Randy Cheeks, and Grey Delisle as Ma Cheeks, Granny Cheeks, Rosie and Rowdy reprising their roles as Sandy Cheek’s family from the recently released movie Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie.

 

• A peek at The Patrick Star Show, “Thanks But No Thanksgiving,” where the Stars celebrate Thanksgiving with Bunny’s side of the family in Klopnod, and the reveal of first-look images (featured throughout this post) of the half-hour holiday special “Squidina’s Holidaze Special,” where Squidina has to direct her school holiday play, but her script was mangled by Patrick.

• Voice cast members Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) conducted live scene reads from two fan-favorite episodes, “Band Geeks” (season 2) and “Scaredy Pants” (season 1).

With a distinct New York feel, the game offers multiple interactive locations to absorb fans into the world of the Turtles. Train in the Turtles’ Sewer Lair inspired directly by the film location, or visit new “hangout” spots such as the Coexisting Center, the Haunted Arcade and an abandoned movie theatre – all immersively changing with the game’s dynamic day and night cycle.

While exploring the game’s expansive map, players can complete main missions and NPC side quests, experiencing adrenaline-fueled boss battles, taking on pizza delivery challenges, and discovering hidden graffiti secrets around the city as players investigate the troublesome Mewbies’ origins. ‘The Patrick Star Show’ Renewed For Seasons 4 & 5 By Nickelodeon | NYCC 2024

Nickelodeon has renewed animated series The Patrick Star Show for Seasons 4 and Season 5, each consisting of 13 episodes. The network announced the news during their SpongeBob SquarePants 25 NYCC panel on October 18.

If the news comes as a surprise for some who don’t remember the SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff being renewed for a third season, they are not wrong.

Originally picked up to series with a 13-episode order, The Patrick Star Show's freshman season received an order for 13 additional episodes in August 2021, with the series greenlit for a second season (26 episodes) in March 2022.

A decision was subsequently made to split the second installment into two seasons (2 and 3) to keep their sizes more consistent with the season lengths currently consumed on streaming services where all shows ultimately get added.

The 12-episode second season ended its run in August, with Season 3 launching the same month. The news comes on the heels of the supersized Halloween special, “Something Stupid This Way Comes”, premiering earlier this week.

Although no premiere dates were announced for the new specials, it's more than likely they'll air during the holiday season, alongside the upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants half-hour 25^th anniversary special, “Snow Yellow,” slated to debut in November, and the SpongeBob SquarePants stop-motion 25^th anniversary special, “SpongeBob & Sandy’s Country Christmas”, premiering in December.

Nickelodeon Unveils First Looks at New 'The Patrick Star Show' Thanksgiving and Holiday Specials | NYCC 2024

Nickelodeon today (Oct. 18) unveiled first looks at its upcoming brand new The Patrick Star Show Thanksgiving and Holiday specials during their SpongeBob SquarePants 25 panel at New York Comic Con 2024!

In “Thanks But No Thanksgiving,” the Stars celebrate Thanksgiving with Bunny’s side of the family in Klopnod:

Then in the half-hour holiday special “Squidina’s Holidaze Special,” Squidina has to direct her school holiday play, but her script was mangled by Patrick:

 

Although no premiere dates were announced for the new specials, it's more than likely they'll air during the holiday season, alongside the upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants half-hour 25^th anniversary special, “Snow Yellow,” slated to debut in November, and the SpongeBob SquarePants stop-motion 25^th anniversary special, “SpongeBob & Sandy’s Country Christmas”, premiering in December.

Nickelodeon also announced during their NYCC panel that The Patrick Star Show has been renewed for seasons four (13 episodes) and five (13 episodes), which will continue to tell brand-new stories about one of the most beloved best friends in TV history--Patrick Star. The Patrick Star Show, the second SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff, stars Patrick and the rest of his family as they are constantly disrupted by his wild whims and surreal imagination. All-new season three episodes will continue to air across Nickelodeon.

In The Patrick Star Show, long-time voice of Patrick Star, Bill Fagerbakke lends his voice as the young adult Patrick alongside new cast members: Tom Wilson (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Cecil Star; Cree Summer (Rugrats) as Bunny Star; Jill Talley (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Squidina Star and Dana Snyder (The Thundermans) as GrandPat Star. Summer also voices Grandma Tentacles, Squidward’s Grandma.

Additional cast members include veteran SpongeBob SquarePants actors Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward Tentacles), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton).

Nickelodeon today (Oct. 18) unveiled a sponge-tastic first look at the upcoming brand new SpongeBob SquarePants stop-motion 25^th anniversary special, “SpongeBob & Sandy’s Country Christmas”!

Set to premiere on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ in December, in the half-hour holiday special, when one of Sandy’s experiments goes awry, the Cheeks family team up to save Christmas in Bikini Bottom. The special features Craig Robinson as Pa Cheeks, Johnny Knoxville as Randy Cheeks, and Grey Delisle as Ma Cheeks, Granny Cheeks, Rosie and Rowdy reprising their roles as Sandy Cheek’s family from the recently released movie Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie.

Nickelodeon unveiled the sneak peek during their SpongeBob SquarePants panel at New York Comic Con 2024, celebrating its rich origins and revealing what’s ahead for the world’s most famous sea sponge and Bikini Bottom denizens. Legendary voices Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), along with executive producers Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller, brought the F.U.N. to continue the monumental 25^th anniversary celebration of the animated series.
