Currently in production in London, The Agency is based off the hit French drama series Le Bureau des Legendes. The show follows Martian, played by Michael Fassbender, a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.
Magaro will play Owen, an Operations Officer and agent handler. In addition to Fassbender, he joins previously announced series regulars Jeffrey Wright (“Henry”) Jodie Turner-Smith (“Sami”), Katherine Waterston (“Naomi”) and Richard Gere (“Bosko”).
Le Bureau des Legendes centers on the daily life and missions of agents within France’s principal external security service. It focuses on the “Bureau of Legends,” responsible for training and handling deep-cover agents on long-term missions in areas with French interests. Living under false identities for years, these agents’ missions are to identify and recruit good intelligence sources.
Le Bureau des Legendes was created by Eric Rochant and is a Canal+ Creation Originale series produced by TOP – The Originals Productions and Federation Studios.
Commissioned by Showtime Studios and produced in association with 101 Studios, The Agency’s executive producers include Keith Cox and Nina L. Diaz (Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios), David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin and Bob Yari (101 Studios), George Clooney and Grant Heslov (Smokehouse Pictures), Alex Berger (TOP – The Originals Productions), and Ashley Stern and Pascal Breton (Federation Studios/Federation Entertainment of America). Jez and John-Henry Butterworth will write and exec produce, with Joe Wright exec producing and directing the first two episodes.
Magaro recently wrapped production on The Bride for Warner Bros. with Christian Bale, Penelope Cruz and Annette Benning. He will next be seen as the lead opposite Peter Sarsgaard in September 5, which will world premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival. He was recently seen in Celine Song’s Best Picture Oscar nominee Past Lives opposite Greta Lee and was also featured in Showing Up, opposite Michelle Williams. On the television side, Magaro most recently appeared in The Umbrella Academy and was also seen in Amazon’s Jack Ryan. He’s repped by UTA and Authentic Talent & Literary Management.
