Both: Hey Lethal Lovers
Sadie: I’m Sadie
Thanh: And I’m Thanh and this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for.
Thanh: So thank you all for your patience and welcome to the reveal of our Avatar:
The Last Airbender Collection!
Sadie: Now, grab your cactus juice or your jasmin tea, sit back and relax, because we have a lot to show you!
Thanh: Mmmh, the quenchiest!
Sadie: For the past 7 months, we’ve been working tirelessly to bring you 15 amazing products inspired by the characters, locations and cultures of this beloved franchise.
Thanh: Needless to say that creating a makeup collection inspired by the wonderful world of Avatar: the Last Airbender was a dream come true and we didn’t take this opportunity lightly. With that out of the way, let’s get on with the reveal, shall we?
Sadie: Four elements define the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and we have dedicated an
eyeshadow palette to each one. Lethal Lovers, meet the Water, Earth, Fire and Air palettes!
Thanh: Like the show, we’re going to start with Water and oh my, isn’t she beautiful? I love the intricate artwork, the foil-stamped waterbending symbol and the beautiful ornate borders in a stunning rose gold.
Sadie: But wait until you see what’s inside! We wanted to create a palette that’s worth collecting, but first and foremost, we wanted to design a color story that truly captures the essence of the water
tribe. Before we dive into the 9 eyeshadows in this palette, have a look at all the details, the beautiful watercolor backgrounds and the imprint in the shadows: just beautiful!
Thanh: The first shade in the Water palette is “Agna Qel’a” which is named after the capital of the northern water tribe. It’s a highly reflective frosted blue metallic. Just stunning!
Sadie: “Ice Dodging” is next and it’s a matte true white.
Thanh: “Penguin Sledding” is a matte icy blue. I love that name!
Sadie: The next shade is called “Yue”... don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t… cry…, an ultra metallic silver with shimmering specks of holo.
Thanh: In each palette, the shade in the center is dedicated to a past or present Avatar. This one is “Kuruk”. It is a beautiful aquamarine, purple and pink multichrome.
Sadie: Next up is “Swampbenders” which fittingly is a swampy brown matte.
Thanh: Then there’s “Water Whip”, an intense ocean blue matte.
Sadie: “Spirit Oasis” is a magical blue, purple and gray multichrome with a glittery metallic finish.
Thanh: Lastly we have “Wolf Cove”, an intense deep blue matte.
Sadie: Moving on to the Earth palette. Again, the outside is just so detailed and beautiful. We have a calligraphic bending symbol on the front, the gorgeous pattern in the back…the whole palette just seems like an Earth Kingdom artifact come-to-life. So pretty!
Thanh: The first first shade in the palette is “Metalbending”, named after the bending sub-skill discovered by Toph in Season 2, Episode 19, and it’s a stunning green/gray duochrome.
Sadie: Next up is “Five-Seven-Five”, a beautiful lime green matte. And if you know what this shade is named after, leave a comment below.
Thanh: Then there’s “Lake Laogai”, a reflective green metallic.
Sadie: Next is “Ba Sing Se”, an olive green matte.
Thanh: And because we love consistency, the shade in the center is dedicated to Avatar “Kyoshi”. It’s a beautiful lime green, gold and pink multichrome.
Sadie: Then there’s “Wan Shi Tong”, a very deep green matte.
Thanh: “Badgermole” is named after the original earthbenders and it’s an ultra metallic brown.
Sadie: Then there’s “Dai Li”, a matte jade green.
Thanh: And last but not least we have “Omashu”, a matte warm brown.
Sadie: Moving on to fire. I mean, just look at this palette! Absolutely spectacular!
Thanh: The first shade in the fire palette is “The Dancing Dragon”, a highly reflective champagne metallic.
Sadie: Next is “Fire Lily”, a fiery orange metallic.
Thanh: “Imperial City” is next and it’s a warm beige matte.
Sadie: Next we have “Agni Kai”, a furious matte crimson red.
Thanh: Like with the last two palettes, the shade in the center is dedicated to a past Avatar and this one is named after Avatar “Roku”. It’s an intense red, orange and gold multichrome.
Sadie: Then we have “Ember Island”, named after the Fire Nation holiday retreat. It’s a warm medium toned matte brown.
Thanh: “Sozin’s Comet” is next and it’s a glistening gold metallic.
Sadie: Up next is “Fire Sages”, which is a deep red matte.
Thanh: And finally we have “Black Sun”, an intense true black matte.
Sadie: Three elements down, one more to go. The last of our element palettes is the Air palette and it’s again… I mean… just look at it!
Thanh: The first shade in the air palette is “Moon Peach”, which happens to be one of Momo’s favorite treats. It is a highly reflective silvery cream metallic.
Sadie: Next we have “Air Temple”, a neutral airy matte ivory.
Thanh: Then there’s “Gyatso”, a beautiful pink/gray duochrome.
Sadie: Up next is “Egg Custard Tart”, a delicious matte yellow.
Thanh: Right in the center is the last of the four Avatar shades and this one is dedicated to “Aang”. We did of course consider Yangchen, but ultimately decided to go with Aang as The Last Airbender is really all about Aang’s journey. It’s a light blue metallic and it’s inspired by the Air Nomad’s tattoos.
Sadie: Next we have “Sky Bison”... awww… a beige matte with peach undertones.
Thanh: Moving on to “Council of Elders”, a rich coral matte. Together with “Egg Custard Tart”, it also mirrors the colors of the Air Nomad’s robes.
Sadie: “Yip! Yip!” is an ultra metallic taupe with specks of silver and blue.
Thanh: And finally we have “Glider” a matte wood color, also known as a neutral medium deep brown.
Sadie: And that’s all four of the Elements palettes! Just wow!
Thanh: Of course Avatar: the Last Airbender is all about restoring balance. To capture this important theme, we’ve included a little detail on the back of the palettes. When you place all four in a square configuration, they reveal the Talisman symbol that represents all four elements, nations and bending styles.
Sadie: The next four products are dedicated to four powerful benders, all of them members of Team Avatar. We’re talking of course about Katara, Toph, Zuko and Aang.
Thanh: Let’s start with Katara. Inside this beautiful box are two liquid eyeliners: a multichrome that shifts aquamarine, blue and purple and a matte shade that’s a beautiful deep ink blue.
Sadie: Toph is the earth bender of the “Gaang” and of course she has her own powerful set of liquid liners. This one contains a multichrome that shifts lime green, emerald-green and teal as well as a matte shade that’s a beautiful deep brown.
Thanh: “Hello, Zuko here”... Zuko is a late addition to Team Avatar and his transformation story is maybe my favorite part of the show. His liner set consists of a multichrome with red, fiery orange, gold and olive green shifts, as well as a matte liner in a beautiful deep rich burgundy.
Sadie: And finally, Aang, who of course starts out as an airbender before mastering all four elements. His liner set consists of a translucent multichrome with peach, gold and green shifts, as well as a stunning matte periwinkle.
Thanh: And those are all four of our liner sets! Conveniently the boxes all have the respective bending symbol at the top, so if for example you’re feeling particularly fiery, you know exactly which one to grab.
Sadie: Team Avatar is of course not just made up of benders. Sokka may be just a guy with a boomerang, but the Gaang would not be complete without him.
Thanh: That’s why we’ve dedicated a stunning multichrome glitter gel to Sokka, that shifts green, teal, blue, purple and beige. And befittingly for a product dedicated to a water tribe member, the glitter gel is of course 100% plastic-free to protect our precious marine life!
Sadie: Nine products revealed, 6 more to go! And the next one I’m truly excited about!
Thanh: One of the most beloved characters of the show is undoubtedly Uncle Iroh and we just had
to create a product especially for him. Iroh is of course a citizen of the fire nation, but he’s also a member of the order of the White Lotus. The White Lotus Pai Sho Tile, a symbol of the order, was our inspiration for this next product which is a stunning duochrome highlighter. It has a transparent base,
so it looks incredible on all skin tones and it shifts from gold to peach. Simply breathtaking!
Sadie: Speaking of beloved characters, which character from the show inspires you the most?
Thanh: I think the cabbage merchant. He’s doing something he’s passionate about and no matter how many times he gets knocked down, he always gets back up.
Sadie: So true! And what better way to celebrate this connoisseur of leafy greens than with a makeup sponge that looks like a cabbage.
Thanh: I honestly would’ve gotten this sponge for the design alone, but I’ve truly fallen in love with the shape and size. Who knew cabbages could be so ergonomic!
Sadie: The great thing about Avatar the Last Airbender is that it’s not about good vs evil, but about balance. And so the antagonists are just as rich and faceted as the main cast. Team Azula is maybe our favorite example of that which is why we’ve dedicated products to all three of its members. And spoiler alert: they’re lipsticks!
Thanh: Before we have a look at the lipsticks themselves, we’ve got to show you the container. It’s maybe the most intricate packaging we’ve ever done and I can just lose myself in all the details. It has beautiful rose-gold edges, a laser-engraved fire nation symbol at the top and a stunning three dimensional pattern that you can not only see but also feel.
Sadie: Of course the inside is just as stunning. Each bullet is carved with the same gorgeous fire nation pattern which to me makes it a genuine work of art.
Thanh: The first shade we’ll look at is the one we created for Azula. And what better color to capture her fierce and driven personality than a fiery red.
Sadie: Next we have Ty-Lee’s shade, a delicate pink nude that not only resembles her outfit, but also perfectly expresses her free-spirited personality.
Thanh: And then of course there is Mai. Her shade is a beautiful grungy deep red. If this shade doesn’t scream “Leave me alone!” I don’t know what does.
Sadie: Wait! Someone’s missing from this collection. Someone very important… where is Momo?
Thanh: Oh, he’s hanging from this Zipper… which happens to be attached to this extremely fluffy Appa Makeup Bag.
Sadie: It’s so unbelievably cute! Like distractingly so. I was doing my makeup this morning and had to make an effort not to look and smile at it the whole time.
Thanh: And you can’t even turn it around, because the back is just as cute. Not to mention the inside… which by the way holds a pretty significant amount of makeup.
Sadie: Whew! If I counted correctly, that’s 15 products!?
Thanh: Time to recap: we have the four element palettes which will retail for 32 euros or 29 US dollars each and there will also be a bundle.
Sadie: Then there’s the four liquid eyeliner sets and they’re 21 euros or 19 US dollars each and of course we’ll have a bundle for these as well.
Thanh: The plastic-free Sokka Multichrome Glitter Gel retails for 23 euros or 21 US dollars…
Sadie: …and the White Lotus highlighter for 21 euros or 19 US dollars.
Thanh: Then we have the “My Cabbages” makeup sponge that’s 7 euros or 7 US dollars…
Sadie: and the three Team Azula carved Lipsticks which are 16 euros or 15 US dollars each. Again, a bundle will be available.
Thanh: Finally, there’s the Appa makeup bag and it will retail for 25 euros or 23 US dollars.
Sadie: The whole collection launches next Friday, May 31st at 4pm CEST, that’s 10am Eastern or 7am Pacific. It will be available on our website lethalcosmetics.com and also at Camera Ready Cosmetics.
Thanh: And now all that's left to say is: thank you for tuning in, please subscribe to our channel and of course…
