New details for PAW Patrol: The Movie 3, the upcoming third theatrical movie inspired by Spin Master and Nickelodeon's beloved CG-animated preschool series, PAW Patrol, have emerged!
The new information comes to us courtesy of Larissa Mair Casting & Associates Inc., who are currently casting the new film, including voice actors for Ryder and a new pup named Dexter!
Dexter is a golden retriever and an expert on large jungle animals. Years ago, Dexter was lost at sea during a storm, and washed up on a deserted island.
Dexter is a creative inventor and builder who has used the resources on the island to create an amazing treehouse, where he lives. He’s built all sorts of contraptions to help him take care of the wildlife. He loves caring for the animals of the island, and acts as their vet. Sometimes he rides on Ronnie, a rhino who is one of his best friends.
Dexter uses a wheelchair to get around. He’s a bit of a daredevil, and has the spirit of an extreme athlete. He loves hang-gliding across the island, and rail-sliding down trees and roots, riding them like a half-pipe.
With everything he does, Dexter is constantly trying to improve. Whether it’s building his accessible treehouse, taking care of the animals, or rail-sliding the giant jungle roots of the forest, Dexter knows that the only way to grow is by making mistakes and finding solutions. He doesn’t let challenges stop him, and his unflappable perseverance is one of his greatest assets.
Larissa Mair Casting & Associates Inc. have been searching for a male aged between 7-14 to voice the new character across the U.S. and Canada. As part of the company's ongoing commitment to authentic inclusive representation, for this role, they looked to cast an actor with a disability who has lived experience using a wheelchair or other mobility aid.
To help actors audition for the roles, Larissa Mair Casting & Associates Inc. provided Audition Packages, which included short scripted scenes which are speculated to be in the movie, however, to prevent leaks, these scripts were most likely produced just for the audition process. According to the scripts, the movie may feature new characters named Martin, Watermelon and Winston, however, these could be codenames for different characters, such as the PAW Patrol pups themselves. The audition scripts also hint that the film may be set in the jungle, and feature a PAW Patrol Mobile HQ vehicle, however, this could just also be for the auditions.
Update (3/17) - PAW Patrol 3 will reportedly be titled "The Dino Movie"!
