The Star Trek panel slated for 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, July 22, in the San Diego Convention Center’s Hall H will include reveals for upcoming episodes of Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Lower Decks. Fans in attendance will be treated to a screening of the Strange New Worlds crossover episode with Lower Decks in advance of its July 27 premiere on the streaming service.
In addition, the Paramount+ booth (#3529) on the convention floor will be inspired by the U.S.S. Enterprise of Strange New Worlds and will features two immersive photo opportunities, where fans can take command and select one of four worlds to explore. Within the booth, fans will also get an intimate look at official costumes and props from the series on display and have a chance to receive exclusive giveaways.
A panel for the streaming service’s Transformers: EarthSpark, produced with Hasbro’s Entertainment One and Nickelodeon, will take place from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m. Thursday, July 20, in Room 24ABC. Fans will see never-before-seen content from upcoming episodes, and have the chance to participate in a trivia contest.
CBS Studios will present a panel celebrating the 50th anniversary of Star Trek: The Animated Series from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, in Room 25ABC. John Van Citters, Vice President (VP) of Star Trek brand development, will preview the Animated Celebration with a look at IDW’s Star Trek comics, and talk gaming with Scopely’s Brian Lelas (lead narrative designer, Star Trek: Fleet Command) and Rebekah Plants (community manager, Star Trek Fleet Command).
A panel for CBS’s Ghosts will take place from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Thursday, July 20, in Ballroom 20. The event will be hosted by TV host, journalist, Talking Strange podcast host Aaron Sagers and will treat fans to a ‘lively’ debate with fans on just who got ‘sucked off’ in this year’s cliffhanger, plus surprises specific to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The presentation will also screen the season-two finale, a video featurette showcasing the past two seasons and an exclusive SDCC behind-the-scenes presentation from CBS Sunday Morning, which was on-set earlier this year.
Comic-Con attendees can also participate in the Ghosts Destiny Decider at Booth #229, where they will be welcomed as guests of Sam and Jay’s Bed and Breakfast. As the front doors of Woodstone Mansion close behind each guest, they’ll warm themselves by the fire and relive special moments from the hit series. However, before exiting, each guest will have their fate decided. Will they get ‘sucked off’ into the eternal light above or ‘go down’ to where their past misfortunes catch up to them? After each transition to their ‘next life,’ attendees will receive images of their posthumous experience and receive a limited-edition Comic-Con T-shirt (while supplies last), branded as being ‘Ghosted’ at San Diego Comic-Con.
In addition, exclusive to Comic-Con attendees, posters will be given away at the Ghosts Destiny Decider booth, while supplies last.
Additional surprise Ghosts-branded activations will be found within and around Comic-Con. Fans can follow along on Instagram via @ghostscbs.
