Spin Master announced in May 2022 that the Academy Award®-nominated and Golden Globe®-winning actor (Minions: Rise of the Gru, Hidden Figures, Empire) would be lending her voice to the film, slated for exclusive theatrical release on October 13, 2023.
Attendees to Nickelodeon Animation and Paramount Pictures' Annecy panel also got to see a storyboard sequence from the movie, featuring Sky discovering a glowing crystal that gives her the power of flight.
