YouTuber GhostsPumpkinSoup has datamined and applied alternate costumes to every fighter in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl and they've got some pretty deep references.
One of the biggest issues in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl currently is its lack of alternate costumes or colours to differentiate players. If you've got four SpongeBob players, they're all going to look the exact same in a fight, which makes things pretty difficult to watch at times.
This seems to be a temporary issue, however, as a dataminer has found alternate costumes for all of All-Star Brawl's cast. Not only did GhostsPumpkinSoup find the costumes, but they've also figured out how to apply them in-game, giving us a first look at what they'll be like.
Each character currently has one alternate costume each and, as you'd expect, they're all references to the characters. SpongeBob's, arguably one of the best, is Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen's hat from "One Krab's Trash", whilst Patrick gets a cowboy hat that could be a reference to several SpongeBob episodes.
Some of the standout costumes include Danny Phantom getting his original jumpsuit and hair colour, Aang getting his hat from the episode "Imprisoned", Powdered Toast Man getting his original colour scheme and design from his first appearance in Ren & Stimpy, April O'Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles getting a green and yellow jumpsuit, Lincoln Loud from The Loud House getting a cap, and Reptar from Rugrats getting a purple skin. Honestly, even if we have to wait a little bit to get properly-referenced costumes, it's well worth it.
There are a few hints that these costumes aren't quite ready yet, such as Zim's alternate costume, his human disguise, not including the contact lens that give him human eyes. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles outfits, as awesome as they are, also look a little unfinished right now and could do with some polishing.
Following the datamine, the developers confirmed on the official All-Star Brawl Discord that alternate costumes are coming to the game soon and were intended for launch but got pushed back. There's no given release date on them right now, or indication if characters will get more than one outfit, but we do know that they're on the way.
