SpongeBob SquarePants has changed since its first episode, "Help Wanted". Over the years, SpongeBob and the rest of Bikini Bottom have gotten a brand new style to fit the modern era. On Twitter, a fan recreated what it would look like if modern stories looked like Season 1!
Because SpongeBob SquarePants episodes have been airing since 1999, it makes sense that the show doesn't look the same today. Season 1 actually had a different way of animating the characters by using cels, making Bikini Bottom feel like a more warm, welcoming place.
