Four new limited-edition Power Rangers action figures are revealed for the Lightning Collection, including Rocky DeSantos and Aisha Campbell.
Four new Power Rangers action figures have been revealed by Hasbro as part of the limited Lightning Collection. The popular toy and TV franchise, which began in the early 1990s with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has continued to be one of the most beloved brands among both young fans and seasoned collectors. The latest entry in the TV series, Power Rangers Dino Fury, began airing on Nickelodeon in February.
Over the years, many different actors and characters have stepped into the iconic, brightly colored Power Ranger suits to do battle with the forces of evil. The colors, abilities, and designs of the suits themselves have constantly changed, and that evolution is undeniably part of the franchise’s long-lasting appeal. Beyond the toy store and the TV screen, Power Rangers has also made its mark in the worlds of comics, books, video games, and feature films.
Hasbro unveiled their new series of limited-edition Power Rangers action figures during the toy company's brand-new collector-focused event, Hasbro Pulse Fan Fest on April 9. The range includes four classic Rangers. The Lightning Collection includes variants of Rocky DeSantos’ Red Ranger, Aisha Campbell’s Yellow Ranger, Adam Park’s Black Ranger, and Billy Cranston’s Blue Ranger, each with a sleek metallic design and a number of accessories. There will also be a Mighty Morphin Tyrannosaurus Sentry (from BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Comic) Target exclusive figure. The figures are available for preorder on Hasbro Pulse from today (April 9). Each figure retails for $24.99. The Red Sentry will be available to order later today via Target. The Lightning Collection releases on October 1. See the figures below, courtesy of ScreenRant and Tokunation.

During their inaugural Hasbro Pulse Fan Fest, Hasbro also revealed Aiyon the Gold Ranger, the latest ranger to join the Power Rangers Dino Fury team! Aiyon will be played by actor Jordon Fite.
Hasbro also declared that August 2021 will be Power Month! This will be a month-long event where retailers will be creating different capsules of merchandise such as GameStop doing a Pink Capsule and Walmart doing a Retro Capsule.

With Power Rangers Dino Fury delivering the franchise’s 28th TV season, new comic series from BOOM! Studios and a Power Rangers shared universe on the way, the franchise shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The longevity of Power Rangers has spawned a generation of adult fans who grew up with the original series, in addition to the young viewers currently discovering Haim Saban’s world for the first time. The Lightning Collection figures harken back to the franchise’s earlier days, taking inspiration from some of the most beloved versions of the Red, Blue, Yellow and Black Rangers.
Though the 2017 Power Rangers film failed to kickstart a new theatrical run for the franchise, there have been rumors of new feature film projects on the horizon. A 2020 report claimed that Bryan Edward Hill had been brought on to write a new live-action reboot, which would see a new cast supplant that of the 2017 movie. Other rumors suggest the new film could involve time travel as a way of paying homage to the franchise’s 1990s origins.
The Power Rangers Lightning Collection figures are now available to preorder, and officially release on October 1, retailing at $24.99 apiece.
