Talking to the Boston Globe, about his next big project, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, the 12-year-old, born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, revealed "I’m on set now. I just finished eating lunch. I had some curry. I’m on set for a Nickelodeon show. I’m actually working on two Nickelodeon shows right now, but I can’t really talk about it."
Bartlett-Carter Talent Management, who represents Doi, revealed on Instagram that the young actor booked a recurring guest star role on a new Nickelodeon show in December 2020. He then booked a guest star role a second another Nickelodeon show in January 2021. "This time both casting offices needed to work together in order to make it possible for him to do both shows with overlapping dates. That’s what you call team work, and it also shows how loved Reyn is, as production jumped through hoops to make it happen! We couldn’t be prouder of Reyn!!," the Bartlett-Carter Talent Management agency said on Instagram.
Update (2/12) - One of the new Nickelodeon shows Doi will be appearing on will be Drama Club!
Doi is set to star in the brand new movie Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, opposite co-stars and co-writers Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, SNL) and Annie Mumolo (Fanboy & Chum Chum, The Penguins of Madagascar, Random! Cartoons, Angie Tribeca).
The film, directed by Josh Greenbaum (Single Parents, New Girl, Fresh Off the Boat), is described as a "berserk comedy that features co-stars and co-writers Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo saying ridiculous things in Midwestern accents; Jamie Dornan playing a soft-hearted villain who sings and dances; cameos that might make you hit pause and rewind; and 12-year-old Reyn Doi, who gets to steal all of his scenes."

Playing a villain named Yoyo, Doi kicks off the comedy by riding a bike during a suburban paper route while singing to Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb’s 1980 duet, “Guilty.” It sets the tone for a chaotic storyline that’s part Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, part Austin Powers. After his big opening number, Doi shares scenes with Wigg and Dornan, keeping a straight face during ridiculous moments.
Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, is released on streaming services on Friday, February 12.
Doi will also star in Boss Baby 2 (The Boss Baby: Family Business), where he'll voice the character named “Box Kid”. The film is scheduled for a September release.
Prior to Nickelodeon and Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, Doi has had parts in Kidding, S.W.A.T. and Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet.
