Update (10/14/22) - Isla Fisher has reportedly confirmed that she is adapting her novels for Nickelodeon! In a new interview to talk about her latest book, Mazy the Movie Star, the writer and actor said: “I am making a TV show right now for my Marge In Charge series with Nickelodeon so I have hopes for Mazy’s.”
First published in 2016, the Marge in Charge revolve around a mischievous babysitter with rainbow hair who tends to bend the rules. The official synopsis for the first book in the series reads: "Meet Marge, the mischievous babysitter with rainbow hair who loves to make a mess and bend the rules . . . At dinnertime Chef Marge cooks up chocolate soup, and at school Marge the Muscian conducts a chaotic concert in the playground! Jake and Jemima have brilliant fun with their new babysitter, but will they manage to tick off all the jobs on Mummy's list? Three fresh, fun and family-friendly MARGE stories from A-list actress, mother, writer and comedian Isla Fisher."
Following the success of the first Marge in Charge book, Fisher subsequently authored three follow-ups: Marge and the Pirate Baby, in 2017, Marge and the Great Train Rescue, also in 2017, and Marge in Charge and the Stolen Treasure, in 2018.
Although the news is currently unconfirmed by Nickelodeon, it does fit in with the network's current commissioning strategy to adapt books for the small and big screen. Over the past year, Nickelodeon has ordered series and movies inspired by Big Nate, Real Pigeons Fight Crime and Phoebe and Her Unicorn.
