Two motion pictures from Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures are set to leave Netflix USA in December 2020, whilst one will be added to the streaming service.
Leaving on Thursday, December 31 will be Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004), based on the hit book series and starring Jim Carrey, and Nacho Libre (2006), about a monk played by Jack Black with dreams of lucha libre glory. It’s from Jared Hess, and it’s similarly offbeat as Hess' Napoleon Dynamite. Nacho Libre was originally meant to leave the platform in October, but must have had a bit of a reprieve. It's currently unknown whether these will become available on CBS All Access/Paramount+ soon after.
Also leaving on Dec. 31 will be the hit movies: Airplane!, Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III.
However, fans can look forward to Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures' Academy Award winning film Rango being added to the SVOD on Monday, December 28.
In Rango, a chameleon who has lived as a sheltered family pet finds himself in the grip of an identity crisis. Rango wonders how to stand out when it is his nature to blend in. When he accidentally winds up in a frontier town called Dirt, he takes the first step on a transformational journey as the town's new sheriff. Though at first Rango only role-plays, a series of thrilling situations and outrageous encounters forces him to become a real hero! Rango features a stellar voice cast, including: Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Ned Beatty, Alfred Molina, Bill Nighy, Stephen Root, Harry Dean Stanton, Timothy Olyphant, Ray Winstone, Ian Abercrombie, Gil Birmingham, James Ward Byrkit, Claudia Black, Blake Clark, John Cothran and Patrika Darbo.
