Premiered Live on "World Turtle Day"
Thirty-one years ago a small band of wildly creative people came together from around the globe to create a little indie wonder that blew up in theaters all around the world. However, bringing the turtles to life was no small feat. Each turtle required 4 different collaborators: "The Puppeteer", "The Man In The Suit”, “The Stuntman” and finally “The Voice Actor”. All four played an integral part in bringing Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael to life. 30 years later the fans still crave the nostalgia of this slightly dark and sweet tale of four ass-kicking turtles and their zen-master-rat-father, Splinter. This video call series tells the untold and never heard before stories of how the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came to the big screen.

Watch the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie 30th Anniversary Cast Reunion Special
Judith Hoag hosted a 30th anniversary reunion for TMNT with many key cast and crew members, and you can watch it right now!
A pizza party thirty years in the making took place this weekend as original April O'Neil Judith Hoag hosted a 30th anniversary reunion for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and you can watch the complete video online. In addition to featuring many of the original cast and crew from the classic movie, the reunion special features all kinds of never-before-seen photos, fun facts about the film, and interesting stories from everyone involved from their memories of working on the movie back in 1990. If you love the original TMNT movie, you're really going to love this reunion, and you can check it out in the video below.
In the video, Judith Hoag speaks with many key crew members who helped bring our favorite turtles to the big screen three decades ago. This includes director Steve Barron, writer Bobby Herbeck, composer John Du Prez, chief puppeteer and second unit director Brian Henson, and producer Kim Dawson. Hip hop artist Richard Usher of Partners in Kryme, whose debut single "Turtle Power" was featured in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, also makes an appearance in the reunion to speak about the hit song. Each person has their own stories to tell and it's amazing to see just how many people made it to the special event.
Joining Hoag from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is Jay Patterson, the actor who played her boss, Charles Pennington, in the movie. Representing the turtles cast are Leif Tilden, the in-suit performer for Donatello; Michelan Sisti, the in-suit performer for Michelangelo (who also played the pizza delivery boy); David Forman, the in-suit performer for Leonardo; and Josh Pais, who provided both the in-suit performance for Raphael along with the ninja turtle's voice. Pais' son, Zane Pais, also appears. Famous voice actor Kevin Clash, who did the puppeteering and voices for Splinter in TMNT, also shows up in the reunion to read some lines in his beloved Splinter voice.
Although he couldn't make it to the TMNT reunion with everyone else, Donatello voice actor Corey Feldman also released another video separately to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. "I wanted to congratulate all of you, and all of the people involved in making Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the movie," Feldman states in the video clip. Feldman then goes on to specifically praise the performers who did the hard part of the role by spending so much time in the suit while he merely voiced the character. [...]
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reunion was hosted on May 23, which not so coincidentally happened to fall on World Turtle Day. Those looking to do the Ninja Turtles proud by donating to save the turtles can do so at WorldTurtleDay.org. Additionally, the TMNT reunion sought to raise funds for the First Responders Children's Foundation Emergency Response Fund, and donations to this cause can also be made at the official website. The 30th reunion special video posted above comes to us from TMNT Movie 1990 on YouTube.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Reunion Part 2 Brings in Corey Feldman and Robbie Rist
Corey Feldman voiced the brainy Donatello, while Robbie Rist voiced the hard partying Michelangelo in 1990's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
April O'Neil actress Judith Hoag hosted the second part of her Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 30th anniversary reunion with some very special guests. Corey Feldman, who voiced the brainy Donatello, and Robbie Rist, who voiced the hard partying Michelangelo in the movie, stopped by to have a social distancing chat with Hoag about the long-lasting legacy of the movie. Director Steve Barron, writer Bobby Herbeck, composer John Du Prez, chief puppeteer and second unit director Brian Henson, producer Kim Dawson, and others previously joined Hoag for the first reunion special.
Corey Feldman and Robbie Rist knew each other way before signing on for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles through their experiences as child actors in the 1980s. Rist, perhaps best known as Cousin Oliver on The Brady Bunch, was vaguely familiar with the Turtles when he auditioned, thanks to a former bandmate who showed him the first comic book, which he thought was pretty weird at the time. He wasn't wrong, but it was a gamble he was willing to take, thanks to the Southern California surfer stereotype voice he was able to provide for Michelangelo.
As for Corey Feldman, he was not familiar with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Plus, he was going through a bit of a dark time in his life when he took on the role, which he reveals ended up helping him on his path to sobriety. When asked what attracted him to the part, Feldman said it was the positivity of the storyline. Robbie Rist also agreed with Feldman's sentiment, noting that the movie has touched a lot of lives over the years, like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory did for him when he was younger.
Judith Hoag, Corey Feldman, and Robbie Rist even revealed that they have not received their broadcast television residuals from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a decade. Hoag says she's working on it though. In addition to talking about the first movie, the TMNT reunion touched on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, which is considered to be the black sheep of the original trilogy. However, Feldman and Rist both have great memories from working together on the set. The two actor revealed that they were able to actually write some of the dialog for their characters, including the jokes.
Judith Hoag is currently trying to spread positivity on her YouTube channel, while Robbie Rist is a composer for movie soundtracks. He did all of the Sharknado movies and is currently writing a comic book. As for Corey Feldman, he is still advocating for the rights of children in the entertainment industry. He is currently an ambassador for Child USA and recently released My Truth: The Rape of 2 Coreys. Feldman also touched on the fact that Seth Rogen is rebooting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the big screen so that a new generation of kids can get into the iconic turtles. You can watch part 2 of the reunion special above, thanks to the TMNT Movie 1990 YouTube channel.

Corey Feldman Drops in on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Reunion with a Special Message
It's been 30 years since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first hit theaters and some members of the cast got together to celebrate.
Corey Feldman had a special message for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans ahead of the highly anticipated reunion over the weekend. Feldman voiced Donatello in the iconic movie, along with the third installment. He even voiced the Slash character in the 2012 TV series. The actor revealed that he still gets stopped and asked about playing the character on the big screen to this day, though he doesn't like to take all of the credit.
It's been 30 years since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first hit the big screen. A virtual reunion was held in honor of the event and Corey Feldman provided a message to the fans before it took place. While he is known as the voice of Donatello, he wanted people to know that most of the credit should go to the actors who had to get inside the sweaty suits to perform the stunts. A lot of people think that Feldman is actually in the Donatello suit, but he only provided the voice, which he teases in his TMNT reunion video.
Leif Tilden and Ernie Reyes Jr. were the actors who played Donatello in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Reyes Jr. took on the stunt work, while a third person, David Rudman, worked as a facial puppeteer, which means, along with Corey Feldman, it took four people to bring Donnie to life on the big screen. David Forman played Leonardo in the movie with Martin P. Robinson taking over the facial work. Josh Pais (Pais also provided the voice) and Kenn Troum brought Raphael to life with the help of David Greenaway. As for Michelangelo, Michelan Sisti and Mak Wilson brought the hard partying turtle to life.
While Corey Feldman took on the voice role of Donatello in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he was not invited back for the sequel. Life Goes On's Adam Carl took over for Feldman in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. Feldman was going through a rough time at that point with his sobriety and producers didn't think he'd be a good fit. Since he was passed up on the role, the actor was able to get back on the path to recovery and able to return for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hit movie theaters in March 1990, fueled by the success of the animated series, which it drew from. The movie wasn't exactly a hit with critics, but it was with the fans, who were excited to see the animated characters come to life on the big screen. It made over $200 million globally, making it the ninth highest-grossing movie of 1990 and the highest grossing independent movie up to that point in time. You can check out Corey Feldman's special 30th anniversary message to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans above, thanks to the TMNT Movie 1990 YouTube channel.
