Viacom18, the parent company of the Nickelodeon network in India, is currently testing a new HD kids channel named Pick a Trick on the Intelsat 20 satellite (68.5 east)!
It's currently unknown whether Pick a Trick will be a Nickelodeon channel or the launch of a brand new children's channel. However, Pick-a-Trick was the name of a magic-themed series which Nick India aired in 2011. The channel is also currently airing programming from Nickelodeon.
It is thought that, if Pick a Trick is a Nickelodeon channel, it'll either become Sonic HD, a high-definition version of Nickelodeon's Sonic channel, with Nick HD+ becoming Nick HD; or Nick HD, featuring a high-def simulcast of the main Nickelodeon channel. Although Nickelodeon HD+ does already broadcast Nick programmes in HD, it doesn't actually simulcast the main Nick channel, and also features programming not currently aired on Nick, Nick Jr. or Sonic - mainly programming from Nick's western pipeline.
Pick-a-Trick is one of four new channels Viacom18 is currently testing on the Intelsat 20 satellite (68.5 east). Joining Pick-a-Trick are:
1. BDM (Bhojpuri Channel)
2. Connected (may be Travelling channel), currently running MTV programming from 2013
4. Eco Lution (Marathi Movies Channel)
