The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, has announced the exciting news that Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pinky Malinky and Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus have received nominations in the 47th Annual Annie Awards, which recognizes the year’s best in the field of animation!
“SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” an original mixed live-action and animated special celebrating the 20th anniversary of the beloved animated series, has been nominated in the "Best Special Production" category.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the current iteration of the iconic TMNT franchise, has been nominated in the "Best TV/Media - Children" category for the episode “Evil League of Mutants”.
Writers Sheela Shrinivas, Aminder Dhaliwal and Rikke Asbjoern have been nominated in the "Best Writing - TV/Media" category for their work on Nickelodeon's popular animated Netflix series Pinky Malinky.
And voice actor Richard Horvitz has been nominated in the "Best Voice Acting - Feature" category for providing the voice of antagonistic alien ZIM on Invader ZIM: Enter the Florpus, the made-for-TV movie based on Nickelodeon's cult favorite animated series Invader ZIM.
Additionally, Niko and the Sword of Light, which airs on Nickelodeon Netherlands, has been nominated in the "Best TV/Media - Children" category, and Tony Hale (Sanjay and Craig, Veep, Arrested Development) has been nominated in the "Best Voice Acting - Feature" category for his voice acting on Toy Story 4.

The winners will be announced at a black tie ceremony on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at UCLA’s Royce Hall.
