After 12 years away, Blue is back to show a new crop of children how they can use everyday items and the help of their friends to solve mysteries and riddles!
Nickelodeon will have a new generation of preschoolers searching for clues and knowing how to do the Blue Skidoo! Nickelodeon on Monday released a first look at Blue's Clues & You!, which welcomes the beloved puppy Blue back to her home network after a 12-year absence!
Nickelodeon is bringing back the beloved detective Blue in a remake of its groundbreaking series, Blue’s Clues. Picked up for 20 episodes, the new Blue’s Clues will have a refreshed signature look, and all the talking household items fans will remember from the original series, such as Tickety Tock, Slippery Soap, Shovel and Pail, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, Cinnamon and Paprika, Mailbox and Magenta — are back, but they’ve ditched their old-school construction paper motif and have undergone a complete CGI glow-up. All your favorite inanimate objects, including the original Thinking Chair to put all of your thoughts together, the crayon and an updated Handy Dandy Notebook, are also present and accounted for.

Update (6/2) - Nickelodeon has revealed that, similar to the original series, the network will is planning to localize the series in at least five territories, bringing Blue’s Clues & You to air in native languages! The original series was localised in two markets, in the UK, in which it was hosted by Kevin Duala, and in Portugal, where it was hosted by Duarte Gomes.
Additionally, Viacom/Nickelodeon Consumer Products (VNCP) has appointed Just Play as Blue’s Clues & You's preschool toy partner, with more to come!
Blue’s Clues was the network’s first billion-dollar consumer product franchise, so opportunity remains high for the revitalized series.

Nickelodeon is giving fans a sneak peek at its brand-new series Blue’s Clues & You!–a remake of the groundbreaking, curriculum-driven interactive series Blue’s Clues–with a first-look music video that highlights the show’s new and refreshed elements.
Premiering in November, Blue’s Clues & You! will have a whole new generation of preschoolers searching for clues with beloved girl puppy Blue and the show’s new live-action host Josh (played by TV newcomer and Broadway actor Joshua Dela Cruz)–who is a cousin to former hosts, Steve and Joe.

· Josh’s new host outfit – a blue striped shirt, jeans and custom blue sneakers;

To usher its iconic canine into the 21st century, Nickelodeon has hired Broadway performer Joshua Dela Cruz to serve as Blue’s new human friend. Original host Steve Burns helped pick Cruz to be be Blue's new friend.
Blue’s Clues & You! marks Dela Cruz’s first major TV role, but he’s certainly got the talent and experience. Joshua is an alum of Broadway who starred in Aladdin where he played the title role and that of Jafar’s villainous sidekick Iago. Dela Cruz also appeared in Here Lies Love off-Broadway as well as Merrily We Roll Along. Dela Cruz has also made guest appearances on shows like CBS’ Bull and ABC’s Time After Time.
The original Blue’s Clues aired on Nickelodeon from 1996 to 2006 for a total of 143 episodes. Initially hosted by Steve Burns, the torch was passed to Steve’s “brother” Joe (played by Donovan Patton) in 2002. That series also spawned the short-lived, puppet-based spinoff Blue’s Room, which ran for 17 episodes from 2004 to 2007.

It's currently unknown whether the UK version of the rebooted Blue's Clues will have a localised host. In the original series, the show was presented Kevin Duala.

Created by Traci Paige Johnson, Todd Kessler and Angela C. Santomero, Blue’s Clues drew acclaim for its unique interactivity that helped change the way kids watch television and has remained one of the most popular preschool shows of all time. It also raised the bar in preschool television by exploring advanced subject matter such as sign language, geography, physics, emotions and anatomy.
