Broadway World is reporting the exciting news that award-winning Irish comedy writer and actor Brona C Titley is currently writing on a brand-new Nickelodeon show! Details of the project are being kept under wraps for the time being. It is currently unknown whether the new Nick show is being produced for Nickelodeon UK, for viewers in the UK and Ireland, or for Nickelodeon USA or Nickelodeon International, for viewers around the world.
Brona is an award-winning writer and is currently Head Writer on Next Week's News with Merman, whilst also writing on Tracey Breaks the News for BBC and a new series for Nickelodeon. She has most recently been working on The Mash Report, 8 Out of 10 Cats and with Disney on several projects including The Lodge, for which she wrote a newly broadcast episode. Further television writing includes Harry Hill's Alien Fun Capsule, Host the Week, The Last Leg, Films in the Frame (a BAFTA produced show for BBC iPlayer), Dave Gorman's Modern Life is Goodish, The Queen's Birthday Party, Newzoids, Ooglies and Off Their Rockers, along with the script for the BAFTA Television Awards. She has also filmed Born Silly, a pilot for Channel 4, both as a performer and writer. Script commissions include BBC Comedy, BBC Radio, CPL and Grand Pictures. Brona is also set to write Women in Power for Nuffield Southampton Theatres (NST).
She is the winner of the BAFTA Rocliffe New Comedy Writing Award 2013 for sitcom Nannies; winner of the NYTVF Pitch Award 2013 for new comedy reality format Teen Time Machine and a finalist in the BeActive Comedy Lab Award 2012 for sketch The Potential Wives of Prince Harry.
Brona is a long-time collaborator of comic Aisling Bea (8 Out of Ten Cats, Dead Boss, Come Fly with Me) and writer Tony Cooke (The Legend of Dick and Dom, Diddy Movies, The Armstrong and Miller Show).
Her writing credits for stage include Effigy (Irish National tour, RTE Radio1) and Jobless Satisfaction (co-written/performed with Aisling Bea – Edinburgh, Dublin, Portlaoise).
Having trained at LAMDA, she has gone on to work on stage with Hull Truck, BBC at Bush Hall, Urgent Theatre and Theatre 503 among others, as well as recently workshoppinh at the National Theatre Studio. She has extensive screen experience including Tracey Breaks the News, Estate Agents, The Potential Wives of Prince Harry, Narcopolis and 50 Kisses.
