Viacom Announces New International Broadcast Deals for Nickelodeon Preschool Shows

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has sold Nickelodeon's popular animated series Nella the Princess Knight to a number of broadcasters in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

The animated preschool show is headed to the public, free-to-air (FTA) channel Clan TV (RTVE) in Spain, TV Cultura (FTA) in Brazil and the online video platform channel iQiyi in China. In Spain, Brazil and China, the agreements mark the series premiere in the country. Additionally, FTA network Channel One in Russia has picked up the rights for additional episodes of the first season, which has been airing successfully on Karusel TV.

Since first launching for syndication in February 2017, the animated series has sold into 18 territories across five continents.

Meanwhile, the third installment of PAW Patrol has been snapped up by Brazil’s TV Cultura, with the fourth season licensed by Russia’s Channel One. China’s iQIYI and Mango TV, as well as Spain’s Clan TV also secured the rights for the series for the first time.

In addition, Shimmer and Shine has been picked up for further seasons by Russia’s Channel One, Spain’s Clan TV, public broadcaster Telewizja Polska in Poland, Canal Panda (Dreamia) in Portugal and Brazil’s TV Cultura. The latter two channels also went for Rusty Rivets - a first for the regions.

“We have an incredible range of Nickelodeon preschool content on offer, evidenced by the latest slate of deals we’ve concluded and the huge number of territories we’ve now sold into,” said Lauren Marriott, the Vice President (VP) of international program sales at VIMN. “We’re thrilled that Nella the Princess Knight continues to make an impact, reflecting the fact that our shows keep kids from all four corners of the world entertained!”

Fans of Nella the Princess Knight can also download the recently launched Nella the Princess Knight app, "Kingdom Adventures", which features a suite of games based on social-emotional lessons taught in the hit Nick Jr. series Nella the Princess Knight. In the spirit of the show, the game leans on princess-and-knight heroine Nella to inspire girl empowerment, self-confidence, resilience and compassion among players. “Nella the Princess Knight: Kingdom Adventures” is free to download on the iTunes Store and Google Play in more than 150 international markets in 12 languages: Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, European Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Swedish, British English and Brazilian Portuguese.
